Well, chain saws, They just fk up the atmosphere directly. ;)
I will say in forty years of operating chain saws, if you take care of them, they are really reliable. Ethanol messed everything up of late. It screwed up all small engines.

I don't want either side. I actually despise politics even though I find it entertaining. I don't think there are any true conservatives in government. A few perhaps but not many. Conservatism doesn't support what government wants.

I only care about conservatives who are citizens. The people who spend government money are the ones I don't care about. They will do whatever they want despite what the citizens may want.

More made up stuff. Considering Texas has republican control of the state govt. now the claim is, they are too incompetent to exert it ?

Ercot answers to the state which is republican control.

“ERCOT is governed by a board of directors made up of independent members, consumers and representatives from each of ERCOT's electric market segments. The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) makes policy recommendations to the board of directors. The TAC is assisted by five standing subcommittees as well as numerous workgroups and task forces.”

I have no idea. As you should know by now, I don't think government has many true conservatives.

    Exactly...
I really don’t get it. Heat pumps are pretty prevalent in the north where the polar vortex reaches frequently in the winter. They have back up fossil fuel and resistant electric heat. The gop lead TEXAS GOVT. was told that it could now reached TEXAS, YEARS AGO.

“Scientists have said a polar vortex, a weather pattern usually only seen in the Arctic, is increasingly spilling downward toward lower latitudes as a result of global warming.” This includes Texas. This isn’t new information.

They chose to fk up and not listen because they were too busy writing in science denial into their school curriculums and passin* voter suppression legislation . They can’t have global waming as we know it if they think the earth is 7k years old. Repos in Texas are too busy sticking their heads up their......

Sure but even if you don't maintain them at all, besides occasionally cleaning the saw dust off them, electric chainsaws work every time.

    Hear you..

I recently bought an electric and it’s great.... but, my Husqvarna always started like a trooper. It’s all about maintenance. The electric ? Like you said, cleaning and sharpening chain....that’s it. But even then, we store the lithium battery inside in cold wealthier.

Thank goodness. No one who claims to be a conservative, has an answer for today’s problems. Nothing, nix none.

Hmm... I suppose I can, if they ever stop laughing at the ridiculous question. You realize that even a remotely sufficient cost of one of the batteries for home use is about $20K right?

I don't see any effort on your part to specify a solution to the Texas catastrophe.

The fact that electric heat in sub zero weather isn't very efficient just doesn't present a solution - especially when building codes and owner care didn't include sufficient insulation or pipe protection.

So, you come up with ficticious and extreme requirements for home electric storage with no justification in that previous post of yours and otherwise show no direction that would help anyone during normal conditions OR in emergencies.

Then, you try to turn the Texas power grid failures into a partisan political attack on Dems - even though you know FULL WELL that the reasons for the failure are the result of the Republican government of Texas - the lack of connection to the national grid, the failure to upgrade the known deficits in that public utility, the failure to have building codes that can mitigate extreme weather events, etc.

It makes me wonder why you bother to post here - perhaps other than your partisan politial BS.

It's true that there aren't many easy solutions. For example, it's easy to say "fix the grid", but someone has to find the revenue.

Still, I think it's worth discussing what individuals can do to improve their resiliance to this kind of catastrophe.

And, I think it's worth identifying ways that individuls can get cheap electricity and even contribute electricity to others. That should appeal to those interested in independence.

Q-GOP greed is NOT an answer...it is the ROOT of the PROBLEM caused by conservatives.

I’m sure “prayer” enters into the problem solving somewhere. Unfortunately we here even Democrats double down on the old “god willing” CYA addendum.

My solutions would make federal government smaller and less expensive. They would severely limit the ability fo federal government to involve itself in things that belong in the states, the private sector or the trash can. They are the opposite of greed. If you want to see serious greed look at the current spending bill going through congress.

YOUR libertarianism has been PROVEN to be an ABJECT FAILURE on every occasion it has been attempted.

But thank you for establishing that you do NOT understand anything at all about your Q-GOP and their GREED based agenda.
