This will result in a 0.5% to 1% drop in the number of Republicans in this country (or a bit more, if we count the possibility of Covid-19-related tardive deaths by stroke or heart failure months/years after the acute infection). Could make a difference in close elections.

 

Then they should be brought before a judge for "attempted murder" if they do indeed have Covid and will not wear a mask.

No basis in law? Why not try it and see ... !

 

In Italy this is a felony called "aiding a pandemic" and the sentence guideline is 12 years in prison.

The risk of death from Covid in the elderly (as well as the not-so-elderly) is high-enough to require masking in public-places! Do what you want inside your premises, but in public one is obliged behavioral-precaution because death is otherwise possible. This precaution has a foundation in law - and people who believe in "freedom to do "whatever-the-hell-I-wanna-do" are NO EXCEPTION to the law.!

The fact that anyone lives in a community means they are subject to the laws and preventive measures as ordained by the community.

Even if Replicant idiots are attached to the quirky-notion that they have the Fundamental Right to Infect the Nation with Covid because of their right "not-to-wear-protective-masks in public".

Such dangerous idiocy in the midst of a killer-pandemic is wholly unacceptable .... :

The situation is simple: Vaccinations are an outside source material(well, as Centerfield would rightly point out, so is every drug in existence.). But the difference between ingesting a pill and the shot, is that *you* have the personal ability to ingest the pill. But with vaccinations, someone else is injecting it. And at that, into your blood stream which is relatively quicker than the digestive system.

For many people, injecting yourself with any foreign object especially when you feel well/haven't fell ill is a very, very big ask of them. It's an ask that will gradually be fulfilled in the years to come as the more time passes and the less people drop, the less the danger will be perceived and it'll be okay to take the vaccine.

I think that Americans will continue to be vaccinated, and the number will gradually increase. It might not increase at a super high rate, but it will increase. As the weeks/months/years go by, the problem will naturally resolve itself.

As has been pointed out with the smallpox thing, smallpox was eliminated because over time, the vast majority was vaccinated. Be patient with this, it's not going to happen over night and maybe not even over 2021-2022. But it will happen.

 

Just a bit of apolitical advice. The more we talk about stupidity of reluctant vaccinees, removing bodily autonomy, and using violence to force compliance, the less likely people are to get vaccinated.

I suggest everyone doing the above re-examine their motives, because if getting more people vaccinated is your goal, your methods are counterproductive in the extreme. I’ve been warning of this since before a vaccine for Covid existed.

First I’ve heard of this. Was it federal or a state program? My uncle got his vaccination at the VA and didn’t walk out with $90.

The only thing standing in the way of covid restrictions is the government's lust for power and control. Fauci is a politician dressed up as an epidemiologist.

 

Clarification: the vaccines don't exactly go into the blood stream, but actually, into the deltoid muscle. This is not a intravenous injection.

Personally, I had never taken a flu vaccine until a couple of years before this last Winter, then took it for those two years, but once covid came around and I noticed all of the extreme fear mongering associated with it, the mask mandates, the "essential" vs "non-essential" businesses distinctions, the rushing through an mRNA untested unapproved emergency use jab, etc., (and now the "vaccinated" vs "unvaccinated" distinctions), I initially decided that I wasn't going to be getting the covid jab, but then later decided that I won't be getting any flu vaccines anymore either, and now have a "**** you and your medical tyranny" response to this topic. If this is "sooooo goooooood" for me, then I shouldn't have to be coerced or forced into getting it.

Plus, it would need to be more than $100... $100 is nothing.

Even then, I'm not going to make deals with Satanists.
