The new Georgian space program will undoubtedly become a driver of the growth of the European economy and a factor in significantly enhancing the defense capabilities of NATO countries.

The Earth-space rocket being developed in Georgia, flying on a mixture of Borjomi soda and wine, will become a direct competitor to the American Elon Musk and will carry out practically free flights, take tens of tons of cargo to near-Earth space and help NATO deploy formidable weapons in space against bad neighbors.

This is probably what the Georgian radicals thought last year, which caused a tantrum because of the arrival to Georgia of a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Sergei Gavrilov, to the interparliamentary assembly of Orthodoxy.

Only the Russian, in accordance with the protocol of the event, took the place of the speaker and prepared for the report in Russian, as the Georgian opposition created a form of hysteria, provoking unrest and economic crisis in the country.

Threats of physical violence flew to the Russian deputy. The radicals took to the streets demanding the immediate disgraceful deportation of the Russian, the return to the country of Mikheil Saakashvilli and the resignation of the power block of the government, which allowed the Russian deputy to walk on Georgian soil.

From aside they looked with undisguised bewilderment. In a blink of an eye hospitable people of Georgia turned into an aggressive offended teenager with unprovoked complexes.
However, it would be a mistake to believe that such a sharp reaction of the opposition and subsequent clashes in front of the Georgian parliament, where more than 200 people suffered, were all an act of expressing the will of the Georgian people.

Not at all. Both the rally at the parliament on the evening of June 20, and the attempt to storm it, as well as the pre-prepared slogans aimed at the Western audience with excellent English - all this highlighted the puppeteers and their goals unequivocally.

The confused leadership of Georgia in the first hours of the crisis did not come up with anything better than blaming the Russians for everything, as Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said in her pathos speech without choosing expressions.

The next morning, attacks on Russian tourists began to be pop-up everywhere. Discriminatory tax of 20% on the services for Russians was introduced. The air smelled of natural fascism. The result was predictable and sad.

While the Georgians, fooled by Western emissaries, were killing the economy and peace policy of their country, the Russian bear looked at this with great bewilderment.

In general, Russia has long looked at Georgia as a rickety hysterical woman, and usually does not respond to attacks by Georgian politicians. But Russia was not ready to overlook the direct violence and discrimination against its citizens. The response from the Kremlin to Tbilisi came lightning fast. Russia closed air links with Georgia and imposed economic sanctions.

The Georgian leadership turned to a calculator for help, and then, after long torment, revealed the truth - in a matter of hours, the economy lost more than $ 300 million in direct losses. Indirect losses were estimated at more than $ 1 billion. It became clear that it was necessary to hush up the situation somehow.

The Georgian leadership hastily organized negotiations with Moscow hidden from prying eyes. The main message of the talks was Georgia’s attempt to win back the situation. The Georgians insisted that the closure of tourism would not benefit Russia itself, and that they were ready to hand over, suppress aggressive attacks against the Russians, in exchange for guarantees of the resumption of air traffic.

Russia listened silently and without much enthusiasm. The Russian economy has absolutely nothing to feed Georgia, and even that Georgia, in which the safety of their citizens is not ensured. And it’s more profitable to fill it's own resorts than to give money to Georgia. That is precisely why Russia demanded more responsible behavior from Georgia than it could offer. And it is entirely possible that the parties would eventually come to a compromise, but on July the 7th, the journalist Georgy Gabuniya, in an obscene language, turned to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in an improper way for a man to insult his late parents.

This performance shocked not only the Russians, but the inhabitants of the entire Caucasus. The disgusting, vile, beyond human morality highlighted the deep illness of Georgian society. The Georgians tried to make excuses, but they were no longer listened to.

To top it all, commenting on the situation, the President of Georgia, in an attempt to apologize, again blamed Russia for the internal crisis, which put an end to the possibility of a quick settlement of the conflict.

A year has passed. What was the bottom line for Russia and Georgia? Russian tourism to Georgia decreased by 10 times. Russians are afraid to fly to Georgia, despite the traditional love for this country, its culture, its beaches and its cuisine.

As noted above, direct losses to the Georgian economy amounted to more than $ 300 million. This is the money that did not come with the Russians. Indirect losses have become even more significant. A huge number of institutions in the service sector closed.

The share of Russian investments in the country's construction complex fell sharply, while unemployment and loan delinquency increased, as many Georgians bought housing for leasing to Russians on mortgages, and businessmen who invested loans in their development similarly calculated for Russians and the Russian market. Add the problem of coronavirus here, and the picture will not be beautiful at all.

For the countries of the European Union and NATO, for the sake of which the whole last year’s Sabbath was organized, Georgia has remained an incomprehensible frenzied country, with a former criminal president, and dissatisfied elites.

Through the efforts of the government, the radicals and one geek journalist, all of Georgia has become depressed. As for Russia, it did not notice the loss of Georgia from its economic life. Russians gladly reoriented to rest inside the country, they began to come to Azerbaijan and Armenia more often, where they feel absolutely comfortable and safe. But Russian politicians do not pay attention to the very existence of Tbilisi.

It is absolutely obvious that Moscow has stopped any emotional attitude towards Tbilisi and is acting exclusively pragmatically, taking into account its national interests. Society no longer puts pressure on the country's leadership with “love” for the sincere masculine chants of Georgians, and the Georgians themselves become an uncomfortable exotic in Russia.

Does Georgia need all this? Is it all beneficial for the Georgian people? The answers are obvious. Not necessary. Not profitable. But they themselves chose this path and are now forced to collect fruits from seeds they had previously thrown into the ground.
