Please read your link. Then demonstrate why you think the spokesperson for USAID is lying. You are propagating a false premise.

    Cuomo, Schumo

ANDREW CUOMO: FAILURE. Sweden Did Nothing and Had a Far Better Covid Outcome Than New York.

    Sweden has 562 deaths/1,000,000
    NY has 1,679 deaths/1,000,000
    TX has 164 deaths/1,000,000

COVID is 10 TIMES more likely to kill you in NY than TX.

Cuomo doesn't just have the 2nd worst record in the US, he has the second worst in THE WORLD, saved from the top spot for both, only by NJ.

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

New York was an absolute disaster when it came to dealing with the coronavirus.

New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, made the worst decision of any elected official in the 21st century when he sent sick patients back into nursing homes, but is that really the entire difference when it comes to deaths? In general, Sweden’s people are probably far more healthy than Cuomo's Fat New Yorkers. Obesity has been shown to be the most impactful factor in terms of deaths.

New York would have been better off if they hadn’t done anything than to do what they did.

    New York 1679
    Florida 257
    California 208
    Texas 164

Again, look at New York. It’s even more staggering to see in the context of the other three most populous states in our country. There’s no doubt that Cuomo made the absolute worst decisions possible on every level in responding to this virus.

As Ted Kennedy never overcame drowning his staffer while trying to bed her, so Cuomo will never overcome all the grandparents he killed in his arrogance.

Nothing can undo the lives lost due to his decision to congregate people in nursing homes, but this seems like a nice gesture. It's a start, anyway.

It's shocking how comfortable these folks are with dead collateral victims.

Thanks for the links. I read it all. Are you suggesting what I think you are suggesting? Please tell me that I'm not. This mess just gets deeper and deeper.

Wow, nobody ever reads links! :) I don’t know man. To be honest I thought Cuomo was just an idiot until I read your post a little bit ago. The “to what end” comment set off bells and whistles and I did a bit of research on the first “end” that popped into my head. To my knowledge only five Democratic governors did what Cuomo did with nursing homes. To be fair, I don’t think the others had shiny new empty field hospitals as the perfect option to nursing homes like Cuomo did.

It’s either absolute stupidity on Cuomo’s part, or absolute evil. Everyone can choose between those options for themselves, but it looks like those are the only two explanations for his actions.

You now know me. LOL Of course, I read information. I want to learn and grow with each passing day.

Quite honestly, I assumed you were going to say that and it scares the h*ll outta me. It really does. What have we come to as a society?

Well, you ask the right questions, for sure. I’ve been criticizing the NY governor all along and didn’t ask myself that question. Now we are both learning. :)

We’ve come to a place where frankly I don’t want any part of it anymore. For the last several years I’ve been designing my life so I can be on the outside looking in for the most part. It’s still disturbing even when I’m relatively safe from morons/power players like Cuomo. John Adams was correct.
Readers take special note of the word “rapine” used by Adams. He was most wise, or perhaps prophetic.

    :clapping:

I interned in a political office after high school. I loved helping residents but I hated what I saw behind closed doors. I walked away from politics after that. I just started getting interested more recently because I have children now and want to understand all of it.

Truth be told, though, I'm ready to close the door again. I won't because of their futures but it's a tough pill to swallow, for sure.

    Yes, most wise and prophetic.

You escaped the belly of the beast. I’ll bet you could tell some stories about those days.

I think we should all stay informed about what’s going on—and do our best to distance our personal lives from it. No politician has your/our best interests at heart. That’s really all kids need to learn. If they can recognize the spin and lies, they can figure the details out on their own. Thanks for taking parenting seriously. That’s the only thing that can turn things around now.

It’s curious how when you boil it all down, violation of property rights is what is simmering in the bottom of the pan. And we’ve been conditioned to believe property rights only apply to the collective.

    Still haunts my dreams. ;-(

Thank you. I'm trying. I wish my parents had been more interested in helping us make informed decisions. I'm trying to do that for my own two.

Would you mind expounding on this?

LOL. The fact the people who don’t mind the double dealing are the ones that stay in politics and people like you that are disturbed by it all leave is instructive all on it’s own.
My parents are both gone now, but the older I get the more I realize how much of a debt I owe them. I sometimes shudder to think what I may have turned out like without good parents. I would probably be dead. :)

Sure. In the Adams quote I provided he speaks of a country that puts on an air of justice, candor and sincerity. But that country is actually pillaging it’s own citizens. Today nearly every cause the government takes up exudes an air of sincerity, but is actually predicated on transfer of private property from one citizen to another with the government middle man ending up with the largest cut of the spoils. Just like nobles raiding the peasant larder to feed the rulers, priests, and warriors in past centuries.

As civilizations in the past, this country has reverted to government violating personal property rights and justifying it to the violated as necessary for the protection of the violated or someone the violated esteems.
