If places like California are completely locked down, then where are people catching COVID?

I've heard that according to contract tracing, most people are catching it in their homes from other people, but someone obviously has to be the first one to bring it INTO the home from the outside world.

The phantom virus is everywhere, and has been for a year or more. Coronavirus have been with humans for decades or more.

It’s the holidays... what do people do on the holidays? They visit family and friends. That’s how the virus is spreading.

There are no 'complete lockdowns', There are too many people with trump mentality to ever have a complete lockdown. That's why.

Show me where there has ever been a "complete lockdown" and then we'll discuss it.

So? One person gets it elsewhere and spreads it to more than 1 person so more cases are being caught in the home where nobody masks, social distances, or uses hand sanitizer like a germaphobe. Anyway, my county just had almost 200 cases in one day when it took from January to June to get to 200 cases total, so expect there to be a lot of Christmas surge stories in the next week.

Can't the contract tracing find out more than that?

Yes, transmission in the home has always driven the pandemic, but more-so now than ever.

I pointed out this eventuality in lockdown areas and provided a solution about a month ago. But the closet anti maskers continue to deny science.

My son dispenses medicine in an assisted living clinic. He wears the appropriate mask, does not have a social life and is very "anal retentive" about China Virus. He gets tested every week and just tested positive. On the other hand my wife and I in our sixties have traveled in 12 states since June, have not shied away from normal funtions though we are cautious about distancing. So far we are fine. I have been told masks are like trying to stop flies with a chain link fence.

Yes, because they let people in, friends and family, no masks no social distancing.
Direct household, not so much a problem. But than if just one goes to work, that person can bring it into the home.

Simple to understand, don't you think so ?

You've been told wrong. Masks with unwoven nanofibers produced with the blown melt technique filter out 98% of particulates of 0.1 micron (the size of the coronavirus) and up, up to 99.97% for certain models.

But hey, you seem to be great at Science. You reach conclusions pertaining to a country with 330,000,000 people, based on 3 cases: your son, you, and your wife. Great. That is SUCH a spectacular way to understand Epidemiology! What could go wrong?

~ We are told cloth bandanas and disposable surgical masks do the same thing. That make sense. :aww:

You also have to consider the fact that people are reusing masks which I would tend to believe decreases its efficacy over time.

Again no mask is 100% effective.

Most people still went out Christmas shopping.

I think they got it at the mall, especially in Toronto.

I would recommend actual scientific papers rather than these sources.
