I for the last 24 years have carried a long since out of production Colt Officers ACP, it's a 6 + 1 .45 ACP, as can be seen it has some rusting and some of the Parkerizing is worn off from being drawn a countless number of times during practice.

As with all 1911's, I carry it with a round in the chamber, safety on and the hammer cocked back.

I prefer the .45ACP because it has decent stopping power low recoil and no where near as loud as a 9mm in a short barreled application (3.5") and when combined with 185 grain Winchester Silvertips, which have a quick burning propellant which combined with the lighter tips can still produce a decent muzzle velocity.

And having an aluminum jacket they provide for better expansion.

When I first began training it was able to clear my shirt, draw, acquire a out of focus front sight on COM and fire in about 1.5 seconds, over the years I have shaved that number down to .94 seconds.

My leather is a custom made IWB made by Matt Del Fatti, back when I ordered it the price was around $180 and he only had a waiting list of just short of a year, but it is a truly custom made holster built to to match my draw (rake) and gun, once I snap open the thumb release the gun pulls out with zero force and re-holstering is super smooth as well.

So anyhow, if you want to join in post on what you carry on a daily basis, please do.

I have a small battery of guns I use for EDC. Which I choose to carry depends on my expectations of where I will be, my expected activity, my clothing, what others are likely to be wearing.
For instance, in the Winter I carry my HK45c (also my bedroom gun) with it’s CT. I carry it in a IWB Remora holster augmented with an UltiClip (excellent retention product). When Hiking depending wear I load with .450 SMC hardcast or my Alaskan Revolver. In milder weather, I may carry my G26 using a Clipdraw (another excellent product with a low carry profile) and a SiderLock Trigger for safety. I carry either G17 standard spare mags or ones with Xgrips. In Warmer weather, I often carry a Kahr PM9, sometimes just using a ClipDraw (Also a home made Trigger block), carry with a home improved 5.11 Holstershirt, or IWB Ramora holster...again augmented with a ultiClip (made it tuckable so I can carry with my shirt tucked). When cycling (I do 40-60mi 5 days a week) I carry either the Kahr in the Ramora or, when really hot, a NAA Pug in a home made holster with an Ulti Clip. Both, guns, when cycling are carried with bungee lanyards.
I have other guns, but I tend to carry these and wear them positioned for consistency. I practice under the conditions of the real world and with the same ammo I have extensively tested for reliability. With the exception of ammo for the HK (Double Tap) I favor Hornady for my other EDC pieces.
With every carry, each piece is wiped down with oil cloth, field stripped and inspected. Then each is thoroughly cleaned and inspected at different carry intervals, weather needed or not.
And, my carry guns get very frequent range time... and must prove 100% reliable to make the rotation.
BTW, my Pug is almost always in my pocket in a remora sleeve where ever I am, often the same back pocket I carry my wallet (for an obvious reason).

I don’t carry on body daily. My work is too physical most of the year. I always have a Wilson Combat tac LE 1911 (in .45 ACP of course) or a suppressed FN fiveSeven close by off body.

Mostly I carry IWB when I go to town or travel. Then it’s the Wilson in the winter or a S&W Shield in .45 ACP in the summer. I have Milt Sparks VM2’s for both.

I don't CC my 1911 but for regular carry I have the safety off and the hammer uncocked.

For me, it's an easier motion to **** the hammer than to click off the safety.

    I do that for any single-action semi I carry/shoot.

I don't carry all the time all the time anymore, but when I do, it's a S&W M&P Shield .40 in the summer, and a Springfield XDm .40 in the winter.

Glock 26 and, for lighter clothing, Glock 42, both in DeSantis pocket holsters.

    Glock 26.JPG

The Glock 26 above has the 12 round magazine inserted in it. The other two are 10 round magazines, one with finger extension, one without.

    Glock 42.JPG

The Glock 42 is a small, light .380. It's very reliable, and it's fun to shoot.

I don't carry all the time but I can say I do most of the time. I guess it's a carry over from my days as a LEO in another lifetime. I carry in my pocket or in an ankle rig. My choice of gun is solely based on ease of concealment. I carry a double action Ruger LCP .380.

If one is going to go through the hassle of installing a finger extension base plate, and thus increasing the overall size that must be contended with, why would one refrain from simply installing the appropriate base plate for increased capacity instead?

I can’t speak for him, but the finger extension for my XDS and the extra capacity extended mag are very different in size. I carry in the holster just the finger extension, then I have the extra capacity mag in my mag holder on my hip. It’s just easier to conceal the XDS with just the finger extension. Just my opinion.

    Looks nice.

No form of carry is legal here, if it was I'd carry a Glock 27 in 40 caliber. Priority has to be putting shots on target no matter the cartridge.

I mostly carry when Im going to the city or to bear country. I carry a Chiappa Rhino .357 magnum.

When concealing, I use a shoulder holster. When hiking/camping, I usually open carry with a thigh holster unless Im in an area where I might trigger some poor Seattle-ites. Im not looking for drama.

Sometimes I conceal in a shoulder slung camera bag if its too warm out to wear a jacket.

Mostly I carry an M&P 9 Shield. I also have a S&W 640-3 Centennial. In both cases, I use nylon IWB clip holsters. On rare occasion I've carried a Glock 21 inside a conceal carry jacket.

As you can see from the magazines I have, they give me options.

    10 rounds, no extension.
    10 rounds, with extension.
    12 rounds, with more extension.

    Options, my friend.

I carry a Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry, a Glock 33, or Glock 42, depending on my needs for concealment. I use a small cow holster for all, I can't remember the brand.

Maybe they should have had their travel agent book them into the Hilton Suites, versus Motel 6, ;-)

I'm 69 with some minor disabilities. I carry a Smith and Wesson 380 EZ. I love this gun because it's so easy to ****.
It also has a fairly low profile.

For the last year I've carried a Sig P238 in a Sig pocket holster everyday.

.380 leaves me feeling a little undergunned but it's a very reliable little gun.
