Has the agreement with Iran by the Obama administration been rescinded by the Trump admin? Are deals of this type amenable to presidential decisions? Sorry I have more questions than answers.
It was worth nothing. And I mean that literally. It was only an executive order. And that is only in effect as long as a President says it will, and no longer.' It was not a treaty. That is legally enforceable under the Constitution, and as part of that it must be submitted to and ratified by the US Senate. That is clear, black and white in the Constitution. The last president never sumbitted the "Iran Deal" to the Senate for ratification, so literally it has the value of toilet paper. That is why President Trump was able to roll back so much of what the last President did. Instead of taking the measures to make them official laws, he did things by Executive Action. And as such, they could be undone as easly as they were done in the first place. The last President was much more interested in making himself looking good by getting temporary yet immediate action, instead of doing the work to do them properly. But please, feel free to ask any more questions you might have. The answers are right there in the Constitution. For this part, it is in Article II, Section 2. He never submitted the "Iran Deal" to the senate, they never ratified it. Therefore it is not a treaty. It is stated very clearly as such what a treaty is right in the Constitution.
