They don’t though, you don’t need Amazon to host your server.
what happened to the conservatives who believed the free market would handle all of this?

It's a side effect of Trumpism. After 4 years, the RW have collective amnesia of the ideologies they stand for. Before Trump, they would have advocated to funding their own servers and crippling the popularity of Amazon. Now they have delusions they are being targeted and want big government to save them.

The difference in my eyes is one is the press while the other is a conduit for messages. Should the phone company block text messages from known Democrats/Republicans?

I agree that it is a good point and Amazon having political power is a good counter point. There's no easy answer.

And if those messages contain condoning violence, a company should be within their rights to terminate the site if they belive harm may be done to the brand.

Is Amazon asking parler to take down all messages though or just the violent ones? In the filing, Amazon highlighted specific posts calling for violence and asking parler to remove them, but there was no mention of removing posts that had a conservative leaning.

You guys have hypocracy down to a science.

It has been a little more than two weeks since your fool’s gold fuhrer led his movement to disgrace the nation before the country and the entire world.

And Trump didn’t actually lead it. He’s a coward. But he bellowed that he would be there, but he slithered away before he dispatched his no nothing loser army to “take back” the Capitol (and leave them wondering what they thought they were going to accomplish).

And now you’ve obviously all gone right back to the trash peddlers, conspiracy theorists BS peddlers and professional liars that got you to Jan 6th.

The right wing noise machine made free and frequent use of social media platforms like Twitter, FB, and the rest fo foment an insurrection in service of Trump.

Russian fake news helped supercharge the Trump mob in 2016.

You didn’t mind it when you were sucking all that trash up as “fact”.

Obviously not, since you’ve gone right back to doing it.

Run away to. the darkest recesses of the net. I’m sure there will be someone there who will sympathize with you, tell you what a victim you are, and how everyone that doesn’t look, talk, or live where you do is evil.

The adults are in charge now.

I think we’ve reached a junction, whether by accident or design, wherein two of our most sacred creeds—Free Speech & the Free Market—have been pitted them against each other.

Yes after Parler refused to take down the posts Amazon cited in the lawsuit. Does Parler have the right to tell Amazon to screw themselves according to the contract?

Show the posts where they incited riots? If you can they should be thrown off too.

Amazon has every right to do what they did based on their terms and conditions.

And if you really saw what was being posted on Parler, and you think it was ok, then you are part of the problem

The Ayatollah of Iran promised to eradicate Jews from the face of the earth weeks ago, and his tweet is still up.

Out of curiosity, if you promised to eradicate blacks from the face of the earth, how long do you think your post would stay up, out of curiosity?

    Weak excuse. Try again.

By the way, the CNN dudes tweet is still up. I know this, because he retweeted it in his apology. Lol

There not blocking people, they are blocking messages. There is a difference.

Your claim is that they are blocking people for being conservative, when in reality they are blocking people who are proposing violence.

Read Amazons T's & C's. They clearly state that hate speech is not allowed, as well as cals for violence.

I just love how the party of self responsibility is now the party of victimhood.

You cant tell me that if Antifa was posting the same types of violent threats, that you would be on here supporting them for being kicked off of amazon.....

'Adults'? More like professional hustlers. Trump supporters weren't the only ones with amnesia, Americans have temporarily forgotten why we rejected mainstream Washington. The immediate loss of 11,000 jobs and $600 dollar checks should remind the people what they wanted to replace, even if Trump wasn't the right answer.

Good point, but there is no argument about what they are blocking. Discussing corporations wielding political power doesn't make me a Republican or a victim.

No, what I'm not okay with is a company essentially disconnecting a person from what amounts to the Times Square of the internet(known as social media) for their political views. For point of comparison, George W.Bush received threats all the time and yet no one really thought to prosecute those(because of the difference between intent and meaning is a very thin slice yet it's there.)

I will acknowledge that after the 6th, one would have to be on heightened alert but when twitter still had the "hangmikepence" tweet up there, and stuff like that it's borderline hypocritical. When Amazon doesn't cite twitter for the same offenses as Parler, it loses its argument as far as equal treatment is concerned.

Don't go acting all high and mighty on me, I'm not the type of person who wants to cancel things I don't agree with, that's you guys.

The point is antifa and blm used that site and not a single lib cared until they found out conservatives also use it for the same thing racist liberal terrorists do.

I dont see this as “wielding political power” for the simple reason they are not blocking a party, they are blocking a message. If Antifa, or any democrat posted messages to incite violence, i would whole heartedly support them banning them.

I honestly dont see this as blocking republicans, it is blocking the radical message within the party

They are not being disconnected for their political views, they are being disconnected for their excitement of violence. They are stopping the message, not the messenger. Have you seen what was being posted on Parler ? That was violent nutbaggery taken to a new level. There were wholesale blatant calls on Parler for armed insurrection against the government of the United States.

The idea that calling for the overthrow of a free and fair election is not incitement, what is ?

“Cancel things” ? You mean like a civil war ? Or the overthrow of a free and fairly elected administration ? Those things ?

Re-read my post. I clearly stated that if BLM or ANTIFA were doing the same thing they hold be banned.

But yet again your defending the person, not the action. I dont care who says it, if your advocating for the overthrow of the government, you should be banned. You do NOT have that right in this country.

Fair enough. I just don't see those on the other side getting their Twitter accounts suspended.
