From Reuters: Thousands of U.S. judges who broke laws, oaths remained on the bench

    Excerpt:
Nobody is above the law. Even judges on the bench in America. If found that they have failed in their duties they should be forced to resign. (Is that hard to do? Not really. Abuse of the law is not difficult to prove, as this study has shown!)

What needs to be done? There needs to be an independent higher court (national) that reviews the conduct of cases to assure that justice was done in a fair and equitable manner and without partial-abuse. No state should be above the law as regards the fairness of judicial processes in a court of law anywhere in America ...

Typically, NOTHING happens to them. They often get a free pass because their friends and cronies are the ones deciding if they've violated the law. Nobody with the authority to create such an oversight task force will do so for this reason. It's like the "internal affairs" for police departments. They are mostly hated and viewed as traitors to the badge ("Blue Code of Silence").

    JUDGING THE JUDGES

True enough, they should be arrested and tried like any other individual who may have broken the law. If ever found guilty they would never sit behind a bench ever again.

More importantly is the fact that our founding fathers knew full well that judges required absolute independence in order to arrive at best judgments. That independence must not be betrayed in an partisan fashion. Judgement of the law must remain independent. For which reason, judges must be not only independent in their roles but also above any suspicion of illicit preference in any judgement. Being above the law is as unacceptable as being against the law.

An excerpt from here: Judging the judges

Favor is what happens when judges behave with a lack of probity. This is inadmissible, unacceptable and demeaning to the profession.

Stepping beyond the law by any judge should be punished severely ...
