OK, the B.1.1.7 from England seems susceptible to the vaccines but another variant, the 501.V2 from South Africa, seems to be drifting farther away, with the S protein being even more different from that of the variants used to make the vaccines, than the B.1.1.7's.

The South African variant is likely to be making 80% to 90% of South African cases. Two cases of it where found in England, in travelers who came from South Africa. They are currently quarantined, as well as their contacts. The new surge of 13,000 cases per day are sought to be due to the new variant being more infectious, like its British cousin.

mRNA vaccines could be adapted to the new variant in 6 weeks. The problem, though, would be production and redistribution.

We're in a race against time. This virus will continue to mutate. Fingers crossed.

    Escaping vaccines! I love it!

Phantom virus mutants escaping from bogus and harmful vaccines. Gawd the propaganda and fear-mongering are incessant.
