It's like a page straight out of an Orwell novel. Turns out Republicans have always loved Obamacare. Or, as is the now "politically correct" name: ACA.

Like Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. His support for Obamacare is so great, now it's "personal". He fails to mention, though, that he has voted again and again during the last 2 years to repeal this, which he loves so much.

Scott Walker, probably the most anti-ACA Governor in the nation, is now running on protecting Obamacare.

Many other Republicans now run on "Defense of the ACA". As do U.S. Reps. Bruce Poliquin (R-Maine) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Washington), who have eliminated from their sites any sign of their staunch opposition to Obamacare when that was the "convenient" position.

Hypocrisy runs wild in the post-truth GOP. But there may be none that compares to Missouri Senate candidate Josh Hawley (R). His name is on a lawsuit that would end coverage for pre-existing conditions. And yet, he is running a 30-second ad basically claiming that "he alone" can save coverage for pre-existing conditions. I say again: his name is literally on a lawsuit seeking to end coverage for pre-existing conditions. It's OK to change your mind. But shouldn't you at least remove your name from the lawsuit before running an ad on exactly the opposite?

    It's mind-boggling.

So the message has finally gotten through to the GOP dullards in Congress that We the People like having affordable healthcare regardless of our political leanings?

What caused this sudden EPIPHANY because this message has been out for a very long time already on both sides of the aisle?

How about the imminent loss of the dullard's cushy seat in Congress?

That can be ONLY reason for this massive policy FLIP-FLOP on ObamaCare.

So this is the writing on the wall that the GOP incumbents are looking at their internal polling and facing the possibility of being thrown out on their fat lily white asses in November.

It's truly amazing isn't it. Perhaps it's because recent Fox News polls show how extremely popular Obamacare is, it's even more popular than the so called tax reform bill. Another Fox poll showed health care as the number 1 issue for voters.

Due to this turn of events the outrageous Republican lying has begun. Someone told the buffoon about this so he had to do two things, lie his ass off and deflect to the "caravan" invasion. At the very time when two former presidents, their wives, a former vice-president and his wife, a former Sec State & US Senator, a former US Atty General, a former CIA director, a former DNI (James Clapper)a sitting US Congresswoman, a sitting US Senator (Corey Booker), a philanthropist billionaire and a famous movie actor are targeted in a mass bombing plot - where was the Secretary of Homeland Security - Kirstjen Nielsen? - she was giving an interview to Fox News at the southern border about, you guessed it, the "caravan" which is what, 1,000 miles away and is no threat to the US.

It boggles the mind......(edited to add Clapper and Booker - two more targets of the bomber(s)).

Republicans are master "EPIPHANYISTS" (not a real word). Like when they realized that the Russians had meddled in our electoral system, or tha Iraq did not have WMDs,, or when they suddenly "decided" that they wanted to (or, at least, claim publickly that they wanted to) protect Social Security, Medicare, Madicaid.... coinciding with the fact that their stronghold base was composed of the recipients of these benefits.

Facts and common sense had always shown Republicans were wrong. But those have never been enough for Republicans. In the end, only political expediency to finally make them acknowledge what rational human beings already knew.

Actually its the lefts constant lying that republicans want to get rid of pre existing conditions that is prompting them to respond.

They've never wanted that and none of them have ever asked for it.

Even their replacement plan protected pre existing conditions but the left is trying to drive a narrative that claims the opposite.

It is blatant lying by the democrats.

Name all of the GOP supporters of the ACA which was based upon the elimination of the greedy HMO's denying coverage of preexisting conditions.

Every one of the crap ACA replacements rolled out by the Republicans in 2017 did not cover pre existing conditions,

as well as Trumps low cost medical plans he put into place to undercut the ACA which he has pushed up the cost of.

This is a surprise? It was obvious how this would all go down before the law “passed”.

ACA is crap but the way it was crafted and implemented was political genius.

As I mentioned on the other thread about this subject...why aren't the republicans say that then? Why aren't they showing the replacement document and highlight the area that stated they were keeping pre ex? Then, the left wouldn't have so much ammunition...

Some people have memories longer than that of a goldfish.

Every GOP member of Congress voted against protecting people with pre-existing conditions in 2010--they boasted about it for years! "Not a single Republican vote," they beamed.

Then, having failed at preventing those protections from being put into place, they all spent years voting to repeal them at every opportunity. "Root and branch," they vowed.

Now they're in court trying to get them thrown out and their fearless leader is doing his best to gut the protections administratively.

They voted to eliminate those protections dozens and dozens and dozens of times since 2011 but they "never wanted that"? Well, then those were pretty stupid votes!

Why are GOP AGs from around the country, with the Trump administration's assent, in court right now arguing that pre-existing condition protections have to be thrown out?

So they are doing the reversal of what they did for the individual mandate. With the mandate, they demanded that Obama use it as an alternative to the Public Option that was originally going to be used, and blackmailed him by refusing to support extending unemployment benefits and even threatening a shutdown by refusing to pass a budget if he didn't agree.

After Obama agreed to use it, almost immediately, the Republicans did a 180 and condemned Obama for using the mandate. Even Mitt Romney attacked him on it, even though the idea was taken from Romney's healthcare plan in MA, which used a mandate. They used propaganda machines like Fox and Rush to convince their supporters that the mandate was created by the Democrats and that they had nothing to do with it.

Then how do you explain the complete support of Trumpcare, which completely repealed all protections for pre-existing conditions?

Those votes are supposed to be flushed down the memory hole. Never to be acknowledged again! (Until next year when they start again, if the GOP keeps its majority.)

So you believe, as McConnell does, that Social Security is "welfare".

I hope the Trump base is watching. This is not coming from me. They're coming from your fellow Republicans. They all know that Republicans want to do away with the programs you need to.... live. And they have clearly signaled that it's their goal if they win the mid-terms.

Don't come back later whining and saying you weren't warned.

getting ripped off and then paying 5 times more than you should for health care is a very very bad deal. Do you understand that?

Even if repealed it was always going to be replaced with something else that included pre existing conditions.

Funny that you can remember 90 times yet tend to forget them saying that.

    Not surprising though.
