I get to watch a lot of American television and their associated asinine commercials. Thanks Internet :)
    But WTF???
This woman is talking to her boss who is a man who tells her he will not be promoting her presently. We have no idea what his reasoning is maybe she deserves the promotion. Maybe she’s drunk or high all the time. But it’s assumed he’s being unfair.
Suddenly a complete stranger woman appears ordering her to drop her meal and get in the car. This idiot woman does as she is told (maybe the reason she wasn’t promoted cause she’s an idiot with no concept of even stranger danger?)
Then she is told that this brand of car doesn’t compromise so neither should she?
Last we see her she is angrily approaching her boss and the strange woman says “that a girl!”
Any boss in this latest world of very few jobs would likely fire her and say next to an employee less provocative.
Is the Sentra the new metaphor for feminism?
What is the ad trying to sell us?

Might as well get used to it. American media has been reduced to a progressive soap box. I basically have stopped watching all TV aside from competition type shows. I find those to be about the only thing not politicized anymore. I shouldnt say that too loudly or the progressives will come for that next. You cant watch sports, news, movies, tv show, or commercials without having some SJW message blatantly thrown in your face. I just handle it the way any good free market capitalist should, by not supporting their products with my money

I was shocked when I moved here and found that American media has saturated most of European culture.
All that is left is local weather and local news and a few die hard Netherlands bands and established TV shows.
This is a rich culture utterly overtaken by a less rich culture even as I give some accolades to my former country as an expat but it makes me very sad!
But I guess the Chinese new wave media will be way worse.

What is the commercial promoting; the quality of their product or exploiting the anger of women who wanted a promotion and didn’t get it. No matter if warranted or not?
Note that the person denying the promotion is a man and not a woman. That would be less provocative and of less value in the marketing.
    Is it promoting entitlement?
The actress herself admits it is about sisterhood. And guess what? unrelated women are not sisters just as unrelated men are not brothers.
It is a common trick to create artificial familial relationships when there is none. Used commonly in every military in the world.

They spent more time talking about the attributes of the car than the issue of a woman not getting a promotion. And the notion of 'no compromise', to me, is that no one needs to stay in a job where they feel they aren't getting what they deserve.

But in the whole scheme of things - why does this have your panties in a bunch?

The commercial begins with the presumed “unfairness” of the lack of promotion and ends with the stranger woman saying “good girl” when the pathetic woman is seen about to verbally attack her boss and probably lose her job.

The attributes of this piece of crap car are an afterthought. And this is from a former owner.

Sentra knows they can’t sell this car on it’s merits so they resort to pandering!

I am sad to hear that. I always wanted to get over to Europe but now I fear it won't even be that great of an experience anymore. Even without the covid restrictions. It's depressing to see globalism killing individualism the way it is. Pretty soon it won't matter if you are in California or Louisiana or London or Berlin. It will all look and act the same. This is why even before progressivism totally saturated our media it was already dying. Music especially but also movies and TV shows were steadily declining in quality. Used to be you had a music scene in Seattle, that was different in California, and different in Texas and so on and so on. Now everybody wants to conform into what is globally accepted, regardless of quality or talent. I know every generation thinks their music was better, but the new stuff coming out is just so streamlined and effortless, it is clearly all about generating money. Same with commercials like these. It is much easier to just virtue signal, then to come up with a clever scheme to appeal to buyers. Honestly I see most progressives as lazy. They want to reduce entire arguments down to one word. Racist, bigot, sexist, xenophobe, hommophobe, what have you. It's intellectually lazy just like this commercial, and sadly like most of the new generations of western offspring.

You said it too well! The Dutch are amazing people but they barely exist inside Amsterdam and The Hague and the language is also disappearing as every part of the country speaks English so don’t bother learning Nederlands like I did. There is still authentic European culture east of Germany so if you want to experience that go to Prague but quickly or Estonia or Latvia or Lithuania or if you are more exotically drawn go to Romania. Don’t know why but the women are incredibly beautiful and are drawn to Americans. If you want to be even more exotic go to Bulgaria. They hold onto their culture harder than anyone I can think of!

I know a girl I went to school with who now lives in Amsterdam. Pre covid I was close to going out there. She says it is super expensive to live there. She has sent me pictures though and at least the architecture and landscape still seems to have a unique feel to it. She has been struggling to learn Dutch to get her citizenship which she claims is pretty difficult. My advice to her was to claim she was a refugee that way it wouldn't matter lol. Why do the dutch have such stringent immigration laws /s

Its trying to sell the SJW narrative that anger = empowerment. Or, more likely, its trying to sell cars by catering to that popular fallacy.

    Realistically, its doing both.

    I knew I didn't like Nissan. Now I have a reason.

So the Sentra, the bottom end replacement for the Datsun 210, is supposed to be a significant thing?

It’s about as expensive as Los Angeles but not as expensive as New York. Dutch is the most similar language to English but the spelling is the hardest thing to learn and the resident Dutch constantly tell me that the government does everything for Syrian refugees but very little for their own people and the immigration process has been quite lengthy for me.

The cars suck so they are playing on the notion that men are bad and make capricious decisions that always harm women and that women always deserve promotions (duh) so get angry and buy this pile of junk.

    In other words, pandering.
