One year ago, the Trump administrationannounced a plan to develop, manufacture and distribute a safe and effective coronavirus vaccine in record time. With a timetable as ambitious as its scope, Operation Warp Speed aimed to ignite the great engine of American industry to end the pandemic.

Today, the results speak for themselves. Pharmaceutical manufacturers were able to develop multiple vaccines in a matter of months. More than half of American adults have now had at least one coronavirus vaccine. Cases, hospitalizations and deaths in most states continue to decline. Facing large stockpiles, America has begun sending vaccines abroad to our neighbors.

This success means that Operation Warp Speed will serve as a blueprint for American leaders to follow going forward. Operation Warp Speed enlisted the ingenuity and efficiency of American free enterprise in advancing the common good during a time of crisis. The result is the most effective weapon against the COVID-19 pandemic that the world has seen.

The program’s resounding victory will be remembered as one of the great chapters in American history. Yet, when it was first announced, many said President Trump’s goals were impossible.

Operation warp speed is an awesome accomplishment of free markets working together to quickly achieve a crucial goal. President Trump deserves all the credit in the world for getting this done and taking the steps to get government to help and not hinder the process. It is a proud accomplishment of America. Hopefully it will be a template as a how to do things in the future.

Thank you President Trump for all you did leading America’s response to the China caused China virus. The Trump therapeutics and Trump vaccines are the keys to ending the pandemic.

If this is an accomplishment of the free market, why is Trump getting credit?

There was no collectivism in that effort. No nationalizing the companies nor commandeering their efforts.

Because Trump was wise enough to backstop, suport, and use free enterprise to get it done instead of resorting to a typical government command operation.

How did Trump stay back? Didn',t he keep saying he wanted a vaccine by x date and paid for doses that were eventually destroyed and allowed the government to take on all the risk?

not all the vaccines were a part of warp speed and they all finished about the same time, nothing to do with Trump

His supporters want to give him credit for everything. But they keep posting stories about rare side effects and blame the manufacturing companies and not the father of the vaccines.

Most of the time you cut and paste op-ed pieces in the current events section.
But I see that you have fallen even from that, and are now cut and pasting infomercials.
By the way, if you look at the URL of your "current news" even fox catalogues it as OPINION.

please use more judgement in posting on the current events

There are couple things to note about his post

For starters, Operation Warp Speed is not an example of the free market, it is quite literally government intervention in the market.

Second, the first vaccine developed by an American company was Pfizer, which did not take part in Operation Warp Speed. You can actually read their CEO's statement on why Pfizer did not take part in Operation Warp Speed here ->https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/News/pfizer-ceo-coronavirus-vaccine-feel-good-safety/story?id=74105879

So..... how did a German company funded by Germany end up being attributed to Trumps success

the list in Wiki is interesting as the only two vaccines to get funding and FDA approval were the J&J vaccine and the Moderna Vaccine.

Meanwhile there was a WHO initiative to support and roll out vaccines to the world

    https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/covid-19-vaccines

    COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC)
The COVAX AMC is the financing instrument that will support the participation of 92 lower-middle and low-income economies in the COVAX Facility. The COVAX AMC is critical to ensuring equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, regardless of income level – and requires an urgent investment of US$ 2 billion, from sovereign donors, philanthropies and the private sector, by the end of 2020.

were the food and drug regulators sure these vaccines were safe and effective before approving them? if so, i might credit warp speed for that, but most trump fans do not consider the vaccine safe or trust the warp speed approval process.

how do you rate trump's plan to distribute the vaccine?

Lol…Total nonsense. You know that trump has blood on his hands for all the excess deaths he caused by his self serving response to the pandemic. He abandoned his duties and went awol after losing the election to focus on his seditious insurrection attempt to steal the election and install himself as dictator.

It should be well known by now that what is called the 'Pfizer vaccine' was developed by BioNtech in Germany (funded by the German government) who then teamed up with Pfizer because BioNtech doesn't have the infrastructure to distribute hundreds of millions of doses across the globe. BioNtech didn't receive any fundings from warp speed and neither did British/Swedish AstraZeneca.
I have no idea why some absurdly desparate people try to give Trump credit for this again and again. How completely separated from reality could one be? Obviously, this is what happens when political ideologies (shall we say brainwashing) take over and common sense goes out of the window. Sad.

    THE FIRST THREE PARAGRAPHS..........THUMBS UP!

THE REST.........Excessively inflated, and the OP knows it.

Recently retired, 40 years as a platform engineer, and throughout my carreer, I've only fired ONE GUY, ''My Construction Manager''. He constantly overworked his men, and took full credit for all their hard work.

Question; Is being TOO TRUMPISH a good reason to fire someone?

In his case, Yes!......especially when a few of his men wanted to kill him.

I think Trumpers should give Trump credit by getting vaccinated. If the vaccines are so great (and they are), why is it that half of the Trumpers won't get the jab?

Quote: why is it that half of the Trumpers won't get the jab?

Because none of the vaccines were FDA approved prior to Nov 3rd, thus, due to a great dissatisfaction.

It should be pointed out that Operation Warp Speed was created and funded by the first COVID relief bill. Trump had nothing to do with it and did not even mention it for more than a month.

Fact; Last January, Trump announced Moderna would develop a vaccine candidate in a record time, and its pre-clinical would be successful................and most experts laughed at him.

Fact; Last February, Trump announced Moderna would be ready for its Phase 1 trial on March 16........and most experts laughed at him.

Fact; Last March, Trump announced that by mid May, Moderna's Phase 1 trial would show promising results..........and most experts laughed at him.

Fact; Last April, Trump announced Moderna's vaccine would be 94% effective........and most experts laughed at him.

Fact; Last May, Trump announced we would have a FDA approved vaccine prior to the election......and most experts laughed at him.

Delivering an experimental and dangerous drug to the American people is not exactly something to be proud of.

Delivering an experimental and dangerous drug to the American people to supposedly protect against a virus with a 99% survival rate is a scam.

DJT has been involved in scams for his entire adult life.
