As you continue to personally attack Dayton3, it appears that for your 10 years you claim you were in the Navy YOU were willing to kill people for the "profit for Mobil" by your reasoning, meaning within your own declared ethical standard you were voluntarily a paid mercenary for the Mobil Oil Corporation, willing to kill people for corporate profits in exchange for being paid to do so.

Your personal attacks against him really are, in your own words and to your own ethical standards, your own confession to having taken employment as willing to take employment of killing innocent people for sole motive of corporate profits. In your own words, in the military you were volunteered to take orders from the CEO of Mobil including being ordered to kill innocent people for their - and your own - profit. What is a person who kills innocent people for pay to do so called? That's what you say you were for a decade.

    Update:

As I have mentioned before the combat readiness of our military is usually classified for two years.

As right wingers always say under other circumstances, GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE ISSUE AND IT WILL SOLVE ITSELF.

Therefore, let us dissolve the military industrial complex and we will have peace.

That's what the Soviets wanted us to do. Instead, we didn't and they knew they couldn't retain power. The "complex", or our condition keeps us prepared for another pearl harbor ignition.

The standard LW philosophy: "If we lay down our guns, everyone will lay down their guns too".

Dude, before we risk national security by disarming ourselves in a violent world, why don't you try that philosophy first in Chicago gang-banger territory? Have the police and all citizens lay down their weapons and see if the gang-bangers do likewise. If they do, then you'll have evidence that it can work on a larger scale. If it doesn't, then will you admit the idea is more ****ed up than a special olympics engineering contest.

Peace is good for business, making ourselves defenseless is not.

It's impossible to explain military sciences to people who have no idea what it means.

You are correct in this post.

But, but, but, but --- I'm just using CONSERVATIVE philosophy.
Government is the problem, ain't it?

Are you suggesting that conservatives have been wrong all along???

It has always been the messages of Vegas that the United States has a moral duty to allow itself to be destroyed before in can retaliate. He opposes defense, only retaliation. It is the typical leftwing view that everyone has an ethical duty to allow themselves and their loved ones to be murdered as defending yourself is immoral if it my harm the attacker.

I would suggest that the very best government ever devised, at its very finest hour, was a necessary evil. Nothing more, and nothing less.

It is necessary to have government, in order to stave off the chaos that anarchy would surely bring about.

But to see government as a positive good is simply naïve, in my opinion.

As Thomas Jefferson (or Henry David Thoreau) stated (the source is disputed): "That government is best which governs the least..."

It is not government, it is to much government that is the problem.

I have no problem at all for example in having to pass a background check before I buy a weapon.

I do have a problem with having a permit and having to fill out forms if I am just buying ammunition. Even more so when said state has made it illegal to buy or bring in ammunition purchased from out of state.

One is an example of Government, the other is an example of to much Government.

Ok. Then dissolve the military industrial complex along with much of the State department and government will be significantly smaller and less intrusive.

The military has always been a part of government.

But the welfare state (begun by FDR and his "New Deal," and exacerbated by LBJ and his "Great Society") is the real problem...

FDR began his policy as a result of the Great Depression started by Republican Hoover.

The military is the biggest part of the welfare state and is needless.

    Cum hoc ergo propter hoc.

(At the same time as it; therefore, because of it.)

To declare that the Great Depression began while Hoover was in the White House is a very far cry from proving that it was Hoover's policies that caused the Great Depression...

And if you really believe that the military is any part of the welfare state, then you need to look up the term--perhaps in Wikipedia. (Actually, just the first paragraph gives one a pretty good idea of what the term really means: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welfare_state)

One thing we know, it was FDR's policies that prolonged the Great Depression and Hitler's policies that brought America out of the Great Depression.
