There is evidence of police brutality, there is evidence that it skews towards blacks. It isn’t as big of an issue as many make it and is decreasing but it is still a legitimate issue.

 

You just took years of: there is no debate, there is no counter argument, the entire police force is racist, the entire country is racist, black people are being killed left and right by police, they can’t leave their homes without thinking they might die and are justified in rioting and burning and assaulting cops and killing them...

People are being killed in their homes. They are being killed while being unarmed, while posing no threat to heavily armed officers.

No, the police are not all racist — are there too many? Absolutely.

Black people fear police because they can be executed and, until recently, very little was done about it. Things are changing.

the stat necessary to showing systemic racism is: unjustified killing of black people out of proportion to their relative crime rate with respect to other races.

Your stat doesn’t show that. At all. only that overall killing of black people is higher, completely irrespective of whether it is justified or not.

 

Kap atleast has had many successful reps. Tebow never had NFL talent. He has a heart of gold and lots of courage but he just doesnt have the DNA. And at Tight End? He will get steamrolled.

 

The only successful reps Kap had was his knee-taking play. He mastered that.

 

That does not change the fact that there are young black men dying as a result of Kaepernick's actions.

 

His release of the football was too slow and awkward. That was the only part of the DNA he was missing. He just might make a very good TE. He has the size for it.

 

Now filter that against the proportion of violent crimes people commit, by race.

 

When black people see people that look like them being executed in the middle of the street by two white men and the police don’t even arrest them or see officers storm into an innocent persons home and shoot them with no repercussion that causes fear. It is irrelevant that you want to dismiss data because black males commit a disproportionate amount of some types of crimes. What they see happening will always be more powerful than anything you want to ignore.

 

Why not filter it vs all crime including property and financial crimes? Looks like all crime would cause a police interaction...

 

Because violent crimes are far and away the most likely to involve guns, they carry the largest prison sentences, and thus give the most reason to refuse to be taken alive or at least take great risks in order to escape being captured. You dont typically have that type of problem with your garden variety shoplifter or graffiti artist.

To pretend like all police interactions are created equal.....is just silly. Deep down, you know that too.

 

Knock yourself out. Most police shootings that result in a death are a result of violent crimes, but hell, be our guest.

Black people are well represented throughout the police force, from the janitors all the way to the police chiefs, superintendents, mayors, DAs and governors. They’re everywhere. Never mind all the body cameras on each officer.
