Women report they felt they had to comply with the invasive internal examinations otherwise they would not be allowed back on the plane to continue back to Australia

Australian government is of course is asking for a formal explanation

Don’t be too sure mate! We won’t start a nuclear war but sometimes just standing up and drawing a line in the sand is enough

What made me shudder is the thought that this may be the future for some countries that try to ban abortion

The article is a little politically-correct as it's an understandably sensitive topic, so to cut through the mustard it looks like they discovered a prematurely born infant in the airport and then rounded up women off the departing planes, took them off site and inspected their vaginas for evidence of birth. All without telling them what was happening

    Wow.

I wonder if an international class action is going to have more weight? I suspect heads will actually roll for this as the reputation of the airline (not to mention the country) will be severely impacted upon.

My guess this was an overreaction by some government official as I can think of at least five lass invasive ways to determine if a woman has recently given birth

An overreaction by Qatar standards hopefully too... I have the feeling that this treatment of women is more the norm over there
