Ahhhh you missed the news today. There is no more Mr. Potato Head, or a Mrs. Potato Head. In the future they will be gender neutral.

Where are we going as a society that we no longer recognize and in fact try to hide the basic human condition that there are male humans and female humans. Instead we "evolve" into some homogenous species and the human in us loses that female male tension that is such a vital part? Or was and I don't know what has gotten better the more we try to suffocate that.

What if the child decided he wanted to be a cat. Goes and tells his parents that he wants to have surgery on his ears to make them look like cat ears, same on his eyes and his nose and have his face tattooed to look like a cat and down his arms and legs. And the parents say "sure if that's what you want" would you believe that should be allowed to proceed? What if the child without the parents consent wanted to that, should it be allowed? Or do you think we as a society should step in on behalf of the child to PROTECT the child from such an abuse of their childhood and proper growth?

That man suffers not from a physical ailment of being born in the wrong body, but a mental ailment of his mind thinking he is a woman, when all Science confirms that he is a man. He is in serious need of mental healthcare, but instead Joe Biden put him in charge of much of the nation's health? He actually has no issue with children being mutilated and drugged. Like I said in my original comment, I'm inclined to agree with conservatives (and others) that she should answer the question and clarify whether she thinks that surgery before adulthood is a bad idea. But it gives me serious pause when I find myself agreeing with people demonstrating such hateful bigotry as is rampant in this thread. *******s misgendering her and calling her "it," describing medical procedures as mutilation... I prefer to call that bullshit out rather than encourage it through consensus.

Should the state intervene if parents are trying to indoctrinate their children into religious cults? What about if they are wanting to genitally mutilate their child? Or sending their child through forced therapy?

Gender and sex aren't the same thing. And there are plenty of examples of folks with penises who have two X chromosomes, vagina-owners with Y chromosomes, etc. I know you want to take comfort in some false idea that the science on this is black and white, but it's not.

 

Then the nominee should discuss this openly instead of "Oh I will meet with you and your staff in private if you wish". There is no public discourse in a behind the doors conversation even if held honestly, which some apparently assume it would not be under the circumstances.

Much like judges need to recuse themselves from certain cases, this "person" should not be considered for this taxpayer funded job due to his having had a lopmydickoffme surgery. He won't even answer the question if he thinks that it's OK for minors to go through that surgery.
