San Antonio City Council votes to label term China Virus as hate speech

Talk about PC running amok, or did China pay them for this resolution?

First of all, the term China virus is not racist, but it is deadly accurate. The term china virus is no more racist than Zika, MERS, West Nile, Hong Kong, Spanish, etc. And it certainly comes no where near the racist terms white supremacy and white privilege.

Second, it is not a crime to use words others consider to be racist; if they were, rappers would all be in jail.

Third, so someone says china virus and gets reported. The absolute worst that can happen is they find out the guy said it. So what?

So now we're finally going to find out where Asians sit on the pyramid of victimhood. I wonder which group(s) will get knocked down a notch or two.

 

Must not be aware of the first amendment.

 

Oh no! People aren't allowed to say racist stuff anymore in public! Whatever shall happen next? We have to be nice to other people? Oh the horrors!

 

My girlfriend works in HR and she tells me they can no longer describe someone as Asian, they have to specify ... Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc..,

The PC police makes me sick !

I will continue to call it the China Wuhan virus, just because I get a warm tingly feeling whenever I piss off the PC police.

I have never been to San Antonio & I never want to go to San Antonio, so I am safe for now.

Looks like another unconstitutional reach by a government. SCOTUS has ruled multiple times:

The US has a good history of racism. People in the US have been racist against their fellow Asian American citizens. People calling it the China virus or Chinese virus.... they just use an incorrect name for the sake to make a not so subtle racist remark. Racists demand that they don't get labelled as such. Like... grow up. Own up what you want to be. Get over it.

 

Hate speech is exactly what the first amendment protects. If everyone spoke nice all the time there would be no need for it.

 

I can't wait until the council discovers that vast numbers of Hispanic-Americans are now using hate-speech. Do they even know the ethnic breakdown of their own city? A ruling like that is something that only the political Left does while thinking that only -- or at least primarily -- W.A.S.Ps are the culprits. This is going to be fun!

If a virus started in a America and the rest of the world labeled it the America virus would you think that was racist? What is racist about it.

 

So Lyme Disease is racist? Legionnaires Disease is racist? Spanish Flu is racist? China is a country, a geographic region. The people who live there aren't China's.

And people in America were "racist" against my Irish ancestors. I never took it as racist that things from Ireland are called Ireland Butter or Irish Lace and if some new virus originated from there the Ireland Virus.

 

It is San Antonio, Mexico after all. For those of you who disagree, you should go see for yourself what wide-ass open borders will do to a city the illegals claim 'they're taking back'.

This is just another example of Democrats covering for China.

The Democrat party is owned by the MSM. The MSM is owned by China. Democrats who blame trump for the virus will get praise from the MSM and those who speak ill of China will be shunned and ignored. If Democrats start speaking ill of China, the MSM risk losing their access to Chinese markets.

Democrats believe only white people can be racist. They literally believe that certain races can't be racist because of their race. I've heard them say it many times.
