100 million years ago it was an ocean. The Eromanga sea The remnants are now the great artesian basin
I recall watching a documentary series about the geological history of Australia and how it is possible to see evidence of every major event that happened.
Wow! I love those photos! One looks like the storm clouds are rolling in. That other one looks like the raptors are rolling out. That is some beautiful country there. The first one reminds me a lot of Arizona. I'm big on landscape shots, so bring them on!
I took this picture on a fishing trip along the John Day River in central Oregon a couple of years ago.
Something I would like to share.. This is Assateague Island Maryland. Wild horses and plenty of other wildlife. We were driving through and came across a lot of horses.
Some of my fossils from the Peace river in DeSoto county Fl. (and antique bottles) Second shelf middle are horse teeth, lower molars
@FatBack Reminds me of all those antiques we used to dig up in old garbage dumps out in the woods. The farmers all had their own little dumps and we dug through to find bottles and cans for target practice. Saturday, box of .22s, and pretty blue, green, and red bottles and such. Bang, bang, bang. We had quick-draw contests until one guy shot his big toe. We also found a lot of arrow heads, but didn't keep them.
Dang gone, just seen your post. Indian artifacts are no longer fair game in Fl. I was born and raised in Central Fl, right across the street was a field with many artifacts, must have been a large camp well into the 1800's..very near Fort King Florida. Not one arrowhead found here in years of digging. (I now live, 200 miles South of there) Sounds like your childhood was as fun as mine, in the woods with guns!
