the guidelines for the USA are finally starting to change ... it's a start, long ways to go yet, but headed in the right direction

"Controversial New U.S. Dietary Guidelines Suggest Not All Fats are Bad, But Sugar is Evil"

    https://www.newsweek.com/controvers...nes-suggest-not-all-fats-are-bad-sugar-412860

"This change is good news for the egg industry—eggs are another example of a food containing these "good" monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which actually have protective benefits when it comes to heart health."

lol, the sugar industry not happy

"Other U.S. food industry associations also responded to finalized guidelines. The Sugar Association said the advice to avoid "added sugar" is based on weak science."

sounds like what they think it does is force the sugar (glucose part of sugar) into the muscle, which would make this true to some extent if that is true

the issue I would worry about is this is only the glucose part of sugar, that means the fructose will still be processed by the liver (sugar is half fructose) and that is processed in the same way as alchol, which is why non-alcoholics get fatty liver - so would not use as a license to consume more sugar - which some may do

but maybe try it if one has the occasional light cheat from time to time, like a small piece of cake at a wedding

That theory sounds very accurate to me... May I quote your post in full into that discussion?

On a similar note.... would you be willing to take a look at the Dr. Joseph Ahrens research. I have the impression that one of his inventions is a short cut to achieving something like ketosis...... without much of the strenuous diet?????? I will send you a personal message to explain what I mean.

I think the 'strenuous diet' is the high carb diet, I think reducing carbs and heavily processed seed oils is the key to health (as well as frequency of eating)

the problem is many eat too many carbs, when a drug comes out the helps the body to move glucose out of the blood, sadly it would probably just mean people eat more carbs - but could be used as a tool, but most will probably see it as an excuse to eat more carbs

Good point... that sounds logical...... but so far my wife and I are finding that we are significantly less hungry and eating noticeably less than we did a year or more ago. We are both amazed how much lower our cravings for sugar and carbs are now.

that is interesting, maybe somehow it's preventing the insulin from dropping the glucose so low that you have the carb crash, thus the starving feeling and desire to eat more carbs a couple of hours after eating

if this is causing you to eat fewer carbs as well, than it would seem to be benefiting you, just be careful with carb creep as carbs can be addictive

    That could be it.

I personally don't quite comprehend exactly what the following message really means?????

It sounds to me like it is giving bodies better levels of insulin???

not sure if better insulin levels or just allowing the current insulin production to handle it better due to some glucose being shoved into the muscles that otherwise would not be - the real goal should be to reduce carbs once someone is diagnosed with type 2 diabetes imo (though I am not a doctor, that is just what makes common sense)

Good point.... I also noticed that Dr. Joseph Ahrens compound from onion skins, dark grape skins and green coffee bean extract seems to help our bodies to make use of the glucose that is stored in our fatty tissues.... (partly because our bodies recognize glucose and fructose as poisons... .somewhat like alcohol..... so our bodies had stored it where it would not harm us). Dr. Ahrens asserts that the idea of glucose and fructose being stored for later when it is needed.... is significantly a myth)!

He seems to believe that sugar is stored in fatty tissues because it acts like a poison to our bodies..... so our bodies put it where it does the least harm!
