The Republican ObamaCare Crack Up - The party had a historic chance to act in the public interest.

The Republican party has failed in spectacular fashion. A handful of individuals in the House and Senate have placed their own definitions of perfection above the general good of getting rid of ObamaCare. This is a pathetic display of political selfishness and placing reelection above the welfare of the American people. And none of the D's had any compunction about keeping the individual and employer mandates as well as the medical device tax which ~ 70 Senators are on record as wanting to repeal.

Obamacare with slight differences wont work. I'm glad it failed.

 

We cannot recall a similar effort by so many to subject their own party to such an abject public humiliation.

Sadly, nor can I. This was bad.

 

I don't expect to see much from republicans until the Russian Conspiracy is put to bed even if it means losing both houses.

 

As time goes on, I’m less and less sure that the House and Senate leadership really wanted any bill to pass. It seems like it would have been fairly easy to buy off most of the dissenting senators by simply allowing the people on the Medicaid Expansion to keep their plans. Did Mitch McConnell really think Lisa Murkowski was going to vote get rid of Medicaid expansion and reduce the federal contribution to Medicaid, when half of her state is on some version of Medicaid? How did he think she and the other senators who are from states that have a large dependency on Medicaid would vote? But if your real goal is to deliver Trump a failure, what better way than provide a sure fire failure of a bill that’s doomed to fail? Admittedly I don’t have any evidence that they sunk the bill on purpose, but if not, they truly are incompetents.

 

The Republican Party (establishment) are scumbags. Had John McCain not voted against it, McConnell, Graham, and the rest of the establishment would have found someone else to do it. The Republican Party leadership is garbage.

We need more primary wins from Mike Lee, Ted Cruz types. For instance, Jeff Flake out of Arizona is a Mitch McConnell RINO and should not win if Conservatives want to advance.

 

The only failure worse than the Reps is Obamacare itself.

 

Obama is not I office and McCain said he wasn't going to vote for the bill as it was. It was no surprise really.

Obamacare takes from the young and gives it to the Baby Boomers. The Baby Boomers are the biggest parasitic group our nation has ever known. They are going to leave their children and grandchildren with Trillions in debt and a broken culture.

It's disgusting to see the selfishness of a handful of R legislators result in prolonged economic damage to the country.

 

Exactly - but a handful of R's will not act to stop the economic damage done by ObamaCare to the people of the US. They ride away on their white horses with thumbs down. Disgusting

 

But that is the point of the Medicaid reform. Block granting allows the states to tailor programs to meet the needs of their particular states. And that is why it is impossible to justify their actions. Also ObamaCare is doing real economic harm to the US economy. Getting rid of it would result in greater economic growth and more jobs reducing the need for low income people to be on Medicaid which is a terrible way to deliver health care. On that economic basis it is completely inexcusable for any R or any US legislator to support ObamaCare.

We certainly can see that by the tremendous uptick in employment, and higher GDP for the second quarter. Meanwhile not once during the BO administration did employment ever reach the same goals, or the GDP ever rise above 1.5%.

 

Plausible this was just to get those who repealing would help, on the record supporting repeal again. And allow those against repeal to go on the record opposing it.

 

I can imagine them telling McCain
"Look you just go reelected and may not even be alive in 6 years...we need you to vote no"

Notice he asked the vote count before he voted? If he was voting his conscience then why would it matter?

 

GDP grown was over 3% in late 09 late 2010. Make up some more ****!
