I'm guessing your military science degree from West Point tells you that you can't accomplish zero hour with a long stretch of fire.

Well if you want to be technical, they are also in the United States.

Honestly, the best way to kill ISIS as a whole is to stop all social media. It's how they recruit.

Onus is entirely on you to prove that carpet bombing 170 miles of desert is going to stop ISIS.

There's two things you need to distinguish. Are you saying ISIS as in it's sympathizers all over the world who act as lone wolves? Or the militaristic compounds that have taken over towns along that road?

Trying to "stop all social media" is just about as inane a concept as carpet bombing the desert.

There needs to be a "social media counter warfare" unit that can discredit ISIS and negate recruitment but it is a fantasy to believe that social media can be "completely stopped".

It was you who alleged that carpet bombing 170 miles of desert road would stop ISIS and hand the territory back to the Iraqi's and Syrians.

So explain how it is going to work in practice.

Or was it just another extremist alt right feel good sentiment that accomplishes nothing and just wastes millions more taxpayer dollars?

If I am an extremist alt right, you must belong to extremist left wing! Let's be our stereotypes!

Yes, carpet bombing that 172 mile road (which consists of estimated 13 or so major compounds) would DEVESTATE the hold ISIS has in those two nations. Giving the Iraqi/Jordanians plenty of room to take control.

The issue some people have are civilian casualties, since ISIS kidnapped so many people.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. In no way would that be a waste of money. It would be one of our best investments.

But you sound like the military expert here.

So suddenly your tune has changed from 172 miles of desert road to a mere "13 or so compounds" instead? Tax payers will be greatly relieved to know that blowing up the other 150 miles "or so" of empty desert road is no longer one of your priorities.

Now do you seriously believe that none of those compounds have any bunkers and shelters capable of withstanding conventional bombs dropped from 30,000 feet? Do you believe that ISIS has taken absolutely no precautions whatsoever when it comes to airborne attacks?

Yes, there are many compounds along that road where they are based. I'm confused as to why you entered a discussion that you know nothing about.

I don't see how you could stop it. Sometimes I think we should be ridiculing ISIS.

Ironic coming from someone who proposed "defeating ISIS" by "carpet bombing" 150+ miles of empty desert road.

I simple slit trench is sufficient to withstand carpet bombing but you are the one alleging that you are the "expert" when it comes to the effectiveness of carpet bombing.

    Exactly!

Social media works both ways and ridicule is an effective means to discredit an organization.

The lack of any substantive support for your position is notable by it's glaring absence in your posts.

    Listen, guy.

Your position is to let them prosper, and grow. The easiest way for Iraq and Syria is to level that stretch of land that ISIS owns. Right now, Iraq and Jordanians are on foot, making their way down that road with little support. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Having someone go through and PAVE THE WAY, would secure them their territory so they can reclaim the land.

I know that's really difficult for the alt-left to understand, since the snowflakes are afraid of hurting the enemy, but Iraq, Jordan, and eventually Syria, would appreciate it.

That you had to resort to spurious ad homs exposes the weakness of your position.

If you actually wanted to remove ISIS from those compounds it would take a coordinated effort of troops on the ground with the requisite firepower and carefully targeted and timed low level airstrikes on a compound by compound basis.

What you were proposing was nothing more than a waste of taxpayer dollars so that your "god-emperor" could strut around pretending that he knows "more about ISIS than the generals".

Wrong. That's not the US mission. The mission is to aid Iraq and Jordan so they can take that land. You must have missed that in your briefing.

More irony from the expert touting that the US should carpet bomb 150 miles of desert road.
