Let me be a little more precise. We have enough weapons to destroy the habitability of the surface of the Earth where we live. The planet itself won't be destroyed.

Again that is a myth. If you actually believe that prove it and don't babble about nuclear winter. Carl Sagan himself admitted that the evidence never supported that theory.

Sagan was once a huge supporter of the Nuclear Winter theory. He spoke about it over and over for almost a decade.

However, like most honest scientists, he admitted he was wrong after the 1990 Gulf War. One of the biggest threats screamed about was if Saddam blew up all the oil wells in Kuwait, it would create a "Nuclear Winter" type of global catastrophe which would cause havoc throughout the world.

Well, we all know what happened. Saddam blew up all the oil wells, and the supporters of this all screamed that the Sky Is Falling!

    And, nothing happened.

In fact, other than over a very small area there was no global impact found from the over 600 oil rigs that were blown up and set on fire. Rigs that continued to burn for over 8 months afterwards. A far cry from the 100 (or "hundreds") that had been claimed months before.

It is because of this that Dr. Sagan withdrew his support for the Nuclear Winter theory. And stated many times before his death that the theory was in no way backed up by facts.
