I'm not excusing what sounds like a conflict of interest here, but I really do not like that he tweets at all. It cheapens the Presidency.

If what Donald Trump posts is nothing but lies, then why is there such a desperate effort from so many to silence him?

 

Twitter is his direct communication with the people. Twitter and the left can't stand that.

I'm all for open communication. I don't mind that he tweets, per se. I just mind that his tweets are often knee jerk reactions and inflammatory. That's the part that cheapens his role as POTUS.

Edited to add: I retract part of that. I don't think he should tweet as it usually doesn't go over well. Just stay off it and avoid the headache.

 

There is zero constitutional protection where Twitter is concerned.

 

Corporations own the state, and thus are the state.

The problem and reason he tweets is that the media has, for many years, used its considerable power to misrepresent and vilify any right-wing perspective. He very rarely lies, although sometimes he is misinformed or under informed when he tweets. Most of what is claimed as a lie is perspective. Often an opinion is "fact checked" against him. Check to see how many cnn/msnbc stories are untruthful, misleading or simply opinion pieces with no actual evidence to back them up. Claims of racism (and every other -ism), collusion, corruption, inaction pertaining to the virus and a hundred other things that have no basis are major headlines while they are nothing more than political gimmicks designed to sway people's support away from him. The House spent a lot of time and resources on an impeachment that had a 0.0% chance of removing him. Each attack he manages to sidestep and part of that is his use of twitter, along with Fox and several free-thinking streamers and podcasters.

Thanks for expounding on this. I understand your viewpoint better now. For me, I am new to trying to get up to speed (a personal disinterest in all this political, but want to learn for my children's futures) and often find myself more confused after I read a tweet or hear a clip from him. I will try to go into it with your words in the back of my mind from now on. Hopefully, that along with MSM news will give me a better balance of the issues. Thanks again.

 

Exactly what I mean. I don't care if you agree with him or not. I don't in some matters, but that particular reference is a prime example of misleading and dishonest media coverage. Thanks for helping to prove a point.

 

First off trump probably lies more than tells the truth. Quit listening to fox Russian propaganda network. Ya they peddle Russian propaganda and that is FACT.
Imho both fox and MSNBC/CNN are way too one sided and both twist the truth to fit their narritive.
It is easy to fact check trump and see that he tells lies daily. I mean for Pete's sake look at his new add talking about Biden it was a complete lie considering they photoshopped pictures in it.

Just how many times is he going to lie and you just shake like ys until you realize it's all a bunch of bs you are falling for. I could go on and on about this and even tell some of his abundance of lies but clearly you will just ignore or just call me fake news like your messiah does to everything negative.

 

It's almost as if people who work for Dems tend to have better credentials, and thus better job prospects after leaving politics.

Fox is not russian propaganda, just stop. It is right wing propaganda, as the vast majority of its commentators have that bias.

Trump probably okays an ad before its put out, but it is put out by his campaign team. I have not seen it, so cannot comment on its validity.

I didn't say Trump doesn't lie, but I guarantee you that most of that list that you claim are lies are not intentional deceptions.
