maybe the gun "just went off" by itself as they are so often reported to do? there were those "recoil related injuries" to the toddler.

And yet it was the NRA that darn near succeeded in stifling paediatricians and stopping them from asking if there was a gun in the house.

It is a Furphy (slang for lie) that toddlers can not pull triggers - and that is proven nearly every month in America it seems.

Yeah but try asking anyone living in a country with UHC to give it up. None of us will.

Kind of hard to tell with no link isn't it the story amounts to nothing more than an anecdote

let’s take away ALL cars... after guns. Vehicles are mighty dangerous!

‘Auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teens ages 15 to 20.

This case has nothing to do with gun laws. In this case it was idiotic parents leaving a loaded gun accessible to the two year old that was the problem. You can’t fix stupid. And unfortunately there are many moronic gun owners who give responsible gun owners a bad name.

Glad nobody was killed. I bet they will be more careful, now.

I think most agree, keep the gun out of reach of 2 year olds

I am sure this family now agrees

find anyone defending that, everyone agrees that is wrong

the war on drugs funds gangs, and much of our gang problems are caused by this

Just leaving the safety catch on could have prevented this ''accident''.
This gun owner should not be allowed to own firearms in the future.

And this should have an effect on my constitutional right to own a firearm because...?

Take your statism and shove it.

I agree. People with children should store guns in a safe place unloaded. I'm trying to figure out how a single shot wounded a head. The only thing I can come up with is........:)

Ciggs and alcohol are also dangerous to kids and responsible adults know to keep them out of reach...thread fail.

So maybe you need a way to ensure only responsible adults are allowed to own firearms?
Making it a right so that any idiot can own one leads to ''accidents'' like this one.

Ask any serious gun owner and he will tell you the most dangerous aspect of a gun is when the person holding it is not qualified to use it properly. As always, it comes back to people rather than guns.
We have a surge of first-time gun buyers right now, as people realize that the anti- police and pro-criminal mentality is putting all of us as risk. Knowing the safety protocols are important with anything that can be hazardous, and while we require registration and background checks, we do not require proficiency training. It's in part common sense, but it's also ignorance. Assuming of course that the story is factual as you relate it.

And.... where's your link to this story?

If I send you a link from where I based my post, will you clearly and unequivocally acknowledge and/or admit that what I said is supported by evidence?

If yes, I'll share it (be aware that you only get ONE chance). If no, then why should I bother?

Sorry to bust your cozy little egocentric bubble, but this is not about YOU. It's about what is best for the country. If you prefer to live in a country where you can have all the guns you want, you might want to consider Somalia. That country might be more suitable for you.

The more you drive or ride in cars, the greater your odds of getting into an automobile accident. The more you swim or boat, the greater your odds of drowning. And it happens all the time to millions of people. Even firearm safety instructors have accidents involving firearms. That's because they have them around all the time. Basically it is common human error in tandem with our mortal existence. So whether the matter is job related, hobby related, or happens in the privacy of our homes. It is merely an informational news article, not a call to set us at odds with one another.

To hell with the collective. I'll take a page out of your shallow debate repertoire and tell you to go to Venezuela or Cuba if you want collectivity.

How about if you simply back your very specific claims by a link to begin with?
