Sure. I get that liberal aren't completely unbiased and conservatives aren't either. I'm sure you can find some good examples of hypocrisy. But this really is apples and oranges here.

 

Sure it's different, but this doesn't mean that an unlawful shooting could not have taken place does it?

 

I'm pretty sure that every police shooting is investigated through the proper channels. I don't think they will find misconduct given the desperate and chaotic situation the officer was in. We can't be too quick to punish those who protect us when their lives are in danger.

 

Well I'm certainly not doing that. I'm not saying that it was just or unjust. My point is that there are LOTS of questions to be asked. The problem is, the useless LEFTIST media are not ASKING any of these questions, but they seemed perfectly capable of asking those questions with regard to George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and Jacob Blake. So what's the difference here? The difference is pretty damn obvious! She was white and she had the wrong politics! I think even if she was a black Trump supporter the media wouldn't give a damn about it and neither would the so called 'activists' protesting police brutality, but of course this have never been about police brutality.

 

The media doesn't intensely scrutinize every police killing that happens. Thousands of people have been killed by the police, and it would be impossible to make news stories about all of them. The media focuses on cases that get clicks because they are a business. Possibly racially motivated killing get a lot of clicks. Shooting someone during a dangerous riot when the police were being killed, people aren't likely to blame the police.

 

What do 'clicks' have to do with network news?

 

Clicks is all they care about. News networks create news articles and pictures and headlines to draw in views. Sensational stories get more clicks, substriptions, and ad revenue. Some people still watch tv. In that case, I guess instead of clicks, its eyeballs.

How many officers were killed by Capitol rioters? I count one that was killed in the open in front of the building when someone threw a fire extinguisher. Four more deaths were reported due to various health issues but I don't remember a lot of coverage on them, who they were and what actually caused their deaths.

 

Joining anything that active at my age is out of the question. I did not approve of any of the riots or condone them but who knows what I would have thought or done between 17 and 30? Lots of stupid things in that record.

I have grandchildren and great grandchildren that I have these discussions with. They believe everything the media says about police brutality and I read and believe that most of the incidents happen out of legit law enforcement situations. We disagree most of the time. I am as surprised at their reactions as they are to mine. What it seems to me is that once the headlines are out there any discussion (after an investigation) even supported by body cam gets little traction. The headlines are the facts and we get riots.

It was mid 60's when Mr Johnson sent my ass to the Tonkin Gulf, that wasn't Ike or even Kennedy that did that. Hows and whys don't matter, our government chose to make a stand there and my generation bled there. Wasn't it the criminal Nixon who got us out?
