Firstly that isn't true. There were no claims of alien abductions when Betty and Barney Hill told their story. And secondly, that doesn't explain how 5 people pass a lie detector while under investigation for murder. And yes he didn't pass an alleged lie detector on a game show. But 5 did under the state examiner while under suspicion of murder. And Walton did on two other occasions.

It is easy seemingly debunk anything if you can ignore all the facts you wish to ignore. Your explanation is random cherry picking.

And just to head off more nonsense. Close Encounters of the Third Kind was loosely based on real cases and had Allen Hynek, the scientist who pioneered UFO studies, as a consultant. It was loosely based on his work and he even made a cameo appearance in the move. It wasn't an original source of such accounts. It was a dramatization of some actual events

You really have to laugh when debunkers are reduced to a game show as evidence in response to a murder investigation.

Zero evidence? For many claims, that is purely in your imagination. But it is nice to live in a safe little bubble huh.

So are we to also believe in claims of ghosts, demons, and gods? Or only alien visitations and abductions?

If you experience a haunting you might believe in ghosts. If you get abducted or have a close encounter you might believe in ET. God and demons might easily be misinterpretations of ET.

As for me, for a long time I studied UFOs and mostly stick with declassified military and pilot reports; esp those with supporting evidence such as RADAR tracks. As for belief, I tend avoid beliefs for or against. But after 30 years the weight of the evidence is difficult to ignore. As was determined by the scientists and experts who published the COMETA report, the most likely explanation for many high-value reports seems to be the ET hypothesis.

100:1 says you have no idea what the COMETA report is.

I believe the UAPs are US secret Technology, which is reverse engineered via gifted or captured alien technology, or a combo of both.

The only ones claiming there is zero evidence are those who have done zero research.

Read Works on UFOs (on Amazon ) by

    1. Stanton Friedman, Nuclear physicist,
    2. J Allen Hynek, Astrophysicist

Here is an audio book by ( and this is one of the better ones )

'Straight from the horse's mouth', as they say. Edward Ruppelt was the first head of the U.S. Air Force's Project Blue Book, the official project initiated to investigate UFO reports beginning in 1952. This report from 1956 takes us inside these initial investigations, separates fact from fiction, and gives insight into who, when, where, and how sightings were reported and researched in open-minded fashion (for which Ruppelt was renowned), rather than in the typical hushed and secretive (and censored) manner most often associated with government and military reports which are released to the public.Dozens of specific sightings are recounted, although hundreds more had come pouring into the agency during the period covered (and hundreds, if not thousands more that were never officially reported). Here we go inside the workings of Project Blue Book, which had evolved from 2 earlier Air Force projects, and we are witness to interviews, press conferences, Pentagon briefings, and many reports from civilian and military pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, office workers, farmers, and the man on the street who reported their accounts with UFOs. And not all sightings that were reported were restricted to the U.S.Although Project Blue Book would continue until 1969, here we witness an in-depth account from it's inception and it's earliest stages, the political obstacles, the houndings from the press, the overall confusion encountered during and following many of the sightings, and the near hysteria caused during the heyday of UFO sightings, and all from the man who headed up the project in it's earliest years. The second edition of Ruppelt's work was supplemented with 3 additional chapters which were added in 1960, and we are fortunate that they are included here. (Summary by Roger Melin)

Would you conflate your neighbor with a ghost or demon?

    No, you wouldn't.

then why would you conflate an alien ( a galactic neighbor, but a neighbor, nevertheless ) with a ghost?

Sagan has done very little research and inquiry into UFOlogy.

    J. Allen Hynek is also an astro physicist, why not read works by him?

How about Stanton Friedman, a nuclear physicist, read works by him?

But we cannot be certain about that either. There are many psychedelic drugs that seem to have a certain aspect to their hallucinogenic properties that make it common to many users. As an example, those who have taken salvia divinorum share a similar experience of meeting or seeing an old woman within their hallucinations.

I bring this up because it could still be a natural phenomena that alters perception in a similar fashion, we just don't know for sure. For it to be ET, and I'm sure most folks want it to be for a lot of good reasons, it would indeed be breaking the laws of physics as we know it.

Haha, good point! It isn't like a claim of something supernatural.

The problem with your idea is you have to not only create a reason for 7 people to all hallucinate, but to hallucinate the same thing including key details. I would bet there is not one verifiable account of this happening in human history. Also, there were plenty of people around them after it happened. If they were somehow impaired that would have come out during the murder investigation.

I would bet your example of the old woman gets back to some kind of cultural or mythical expectation. They were told about this first and THEN had the hallucination.

I can only go by my experience with salvia divinorum and I did experience the old lady phenomena BEFORE I was even aware of that aspect of it.

Thank you for allowing for more than one response.

i went for 1. Aliens 2. U.S. Secret Technology and 3. Interdimensional leakage

I'm very confident there are no extra terrestrial life forms involved. The reason is the great distances involved vs our best understanding of physics at the moment. The nearest star. Alpha Centauri, actually a three star system, is over 4 light years away. Using our current technology it would take about 30,000 years to travel there. Even if you could travel at the speed of light (theoretlcally impossible) it would take more than 4 years. Science fiction has a lot answers for how it could be done but science reality has none. The next closest star is Barnard's which is about 6 light years away. I'll leave the math up to you.

They may not necessarily be extraterrestrial "life". A better option would be to send robotic probes that could send back their information through encryption by radio waves that do travel at the speed of light. Where would be the best place hide? In the ocean.

OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena

"There are probably multiple types of UAP requiring different explanations based on the range of appearances and behaviors described in the available reporting. Our analysis of the data supports the construct that if and when individual UAP incidents are resolved they will fall into one of five potential explanatory categories: airborne clutter, natural atmospheric phenomena, USG or U.S. industry developmental programs, foreign adversary systems, and a catchall “other” bin."

What the authorities think they have detected is mostly likely either advanced foreign 'stuff', or maybe our own American advanced 'stuff'.

I simply cannot make myself believe it's "aliens" until they come right out and SHOW THEMSELVES. Obviously, that hasn't happened, and it seems highly unlikely that it will.

My third choice was "I don't care", and I won't while we have so MANY thousands of other terribly important, very REAL things to worry about instead....
