Yes. That's what the tax cuts were for. That's why so many people think it's a good thing, because they believe the utter bullcrap that corporations will use the extra billions to benefit us as well as themselves.

Most conservative voters favor such cuts because they believe that old saying that a rising tide lifts all boats, which doesn't take into consideration that most of our boats are tiny little dinghys firmly anchored to the bottom of the sea, and are just getting swamped by the bigger boats and pulled under while the rich float away in ever more luxury.

I stopped voting for conservatives who favor trickle-down economics more than thirty years ago. Nixon took us off the gold standard, and economics in America have gone downhill for the middle class ever since, aside from a fortunate bubble or two for those with good timing.

Because corporate and wealth taxes were much higher then.

    https://www.thebalance.com/trickle-down-economics-theory-effect-does-it-work-3305572

See the section titled "When Trickle-Down Policies Work".

I recommend the entire article, which explains in simple terms why trickle down doesn't work unless tax rates are high for the wealthy and the corporations. It certainly doesn't work now.

He worked for daddy, which basically meant that he went around to the buildings they owned and collected rents. Donald Trump has never done any hard work, unless you think that figuring out new and different ways to cheat is hard work.

You should try reading a biography.

I'm not, actually. I used to be much more conservative, and have voted for candidates from four parties at least once, and Republicans several times. I've never registered with any party, although I do favor Democrats more and more as the decades pass. The last Republican I voted for was Jon Huntsman in the 2012 Republican primary. After Trump, though, no Republican will ever get my vote again, not for any office.

I don't know if you are aware, but there was a 3rd political convention last month, put on by anti-Trump Republicans and a few Libertarians, called the Convention on Founding Principles. You cand find it on YouTube if you're interested. I recommend it. If those folks decide to form a new party, I'd be very tempted to join for the first time in my life.

I have read many biographies. I limit the list to those I admire, so I will not be reading Trumps. Property management is not an easy job. Those who have never done it think its just about collecting rent.

No, I was not aware of this important fact. Thank you, but I do not sell my loyalty.

Hasn't the average income gone up under Trump?

If the OP was NOT sarcastic, then it wouldn't have been 'making fun.' It would have been a serious post.

My income has gone up almost every year since I was 16. I am now 54. The president is irrelevant; my salary has never gone down. It's been stagnant a few times. This year is one of those years.

I won't be taking your quiz; just answering your question from one data point. My husband can say similar.

    Well here is your post:
Is it NOT your opinion that the money will not trickle down? Is it NOT your opinion that Trump hasn't taken good care of Americans?

My opinion is that there are governments that concentrate on helping working people and some governments concentrate on helping the wealthy. There are some working people who support governments which support the wealthy and there are some wealthy who support governments which support the working people.

The fact is: the current government gave the wealthy PERMANENT 14% tax cut and for the working people 2-4% TEMPORARY tax cut. The current government oppose to the public universal health care. Is it good for American people? I think no – but we are living in a free country, you have a right to think otherwise.
Will the money the wealthy got from Trump's law and regulation trickle down to American working people? Obviously some will, by most will end up in the wealthy accounts.

Who's asking you to sell anything? That doesn't make sense in the context of my post.

Just watch the first episode, or just the first hour of it. Unless you fear having your views shaken just a little? I doubt that would happen. These are life-long Republicans.

Average incomes were beginning to increase very, very slowly under Obama. Trump did nothing to either improve incomes or decrease them. Wages have been stagnant for decades, in spite of the rapid increase in corporate profits.

Of course. The Conservative movement, and anyone who supports it.

I have long given up arguing with Liberals, sorry. Still, you can’t possibly dismiss the fundamental tenet of the society - these who have more money, buy luxuries manufactured by these who have to work for a living with their hands, and it’s irrelevant if they buy luxuries from businesses, or artisans.

Thats trickle down economy and it works, always had.

And it continued under Trump. What's your point?

So Obama did nothing either then.

The reality is that the wealthy pay the majority of the tax. and in a FAIR system, everyone would pay the same percentage of tax. Why should the wealthy pay more tax just because they are successful?

    He did what he could.

I'm retired three years now, but my own pay rate either decreased or stayed the same from the time of the dot com bubble burst in late 2000 through and including the recession during GW Bush's watch. I went from six figures in the late nineties to less than $75k at the time I retired. I worked freelance, and contracts just weren't paying as much after Clinton left office (leaving a budget surplus for the first time in decades).

    How about you?
