I have home made fish ponds and tanks. I raise bluegill, crayfish and goldfish. I love fooling with them. I stock them from wild stock. It's fun for me. All my tanks are native tanks except one.
-Travel, but I would like to do more for pleasure rather than business. -Cook AND eat, I am a major foodie
Just travel. I waited too long and nothing will cleanse you more than traveling to a different culture. Sometimes nothing else works! Trust me
It's so funny because I have traveled very extensively but it's always been for work so I didn't get to fully enjoy it. I love seeing different cultures, history, art, etc..
When I’m overwhelmed just getting thousands of miles away helps. Most places speak English these days.
Yes, they do. I have traveled outside of the states and LOVED it. I had a lot of really fun experiences..next on my bucket list is Iceland!!
Whatever you do stay away from the tourist areas and find some local restaurant or pub if they are open and talk to the natives. People may not like Americans but they always want to talk to them if only to scold but if you listen to then they always calm down and become incredibly generous.
Iceland is unearthly. The light is surreal and be sure to rent a car and travel the ring road. You will feel like you are on another planet!!!
I have actually been pretty fortunate when I left America in the people I met. Mainly because I have extended family in Europe who I stayed with or because I was with a client they showed me around and took me outside of the touristy places so I was fortunate in that aspect. People for the most part were very nice, only place where people were CONSISTENTLY rude to me was Paris. Lol
I would love to do that!! I know this is so touristy of me, but I really really want to go to the Blue Lagoon! Lol
Even French people don’t like Paris people. Just like Americans hate New Yorkers. Go to Brittany. Some of the sweetest people I have ever met.
Lol I am weird I actually get along with New Yorkers great, don't agree with a majority of their politics but nobody was ever rude to me. Others have told me the same thing about Paris as what you're saying.
@Mrs. SEAL No one thinks of places like this. And this is where I go and they are unknown treasures. Go to Tallinn Estonia or Helsinki or Prague or Bergen or Tierra del Fuego or the Antarctic peninsula. (Everyone needs to see a Penguin up close cause I think they are here to make people smile) These are the hidden treasures of the world.
I get along with pretty much anybody and New York bluntness is very similar to Amsterdam bluntness so I am prepared
If you drink that is where it gets crazy expensive. And forget about wine!!! But its so beautiful you might not even think about it. Look at my avatar.
I have been to Prague, but not the other places you mentioned. I do wanna see a penguin, how could anyone not smile from seeing penguins? They are so damn cute!!! My favorite places I have been to are Scotland, Hungary (especially outside of Budapest), Ireland, Malta and Singapore! Oh and Croatia!
I have been to Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, The. Dikson mounds in Illinois, Starved Rock. and other places. I would like to get another motorbike and tour the south.
But my traveling days are probably over. I do like my hobby. This is a Red Swamp Crayfish. I also have a few Appalachian Brook Crayfish. View attachment 120875 This is my filter pond. Notice how the leaves of the plants have been harvested. They also love duckweed. When in doubt about feeding throw in a bunch of duckweed And if you look carefully.
I’ve not been to Scotland or Hungary or either Ireland but I’m told that Belfast is now nicer than Dublin. I’ve had some unpleasant experiences with Hungarian girls here in Amsterdam so I tend to not want to go to Hungary now. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Czech girls. I should also mention Romania, I find it quite beautiful and Transylvania is not creepy at all but sort of magical in a good way with a fascinating history.
