Having lived in California and Salt Lake City and the Midwest US in summer I can assure you that life without AC is truly a slice of hell
These places are not fit for human habitation in the summer without AC. I’ve been in Houston in July. A 10 minute walk leaves you having to wring out your shirt!!!

Internet is useless on its own. You need some type of modern convenience to access it like a computer or phone.
I was just thinking 'I bet someone says the internet'... But yeah, the internet. I argue a computer or a phone without the internet is useless. I almost never use my landline, but never stop using the wifi.
Air conditioning and a dishwasher. Everything else has a work around. Well, technically dishwashers do too but that is like real work.

Oh it rains enough around here that I could just hang my dirty clothes on the line and pretend they are clean after the storm
I also couldn't make it without my laptop. The cord on my laptop recently broke and it took about a two days for a new one to arrive. I thought it was the end of the world. LOL In fact, I ordered two new cords just in case. Oh, and the internet.
I could live without modern conveniences, but I would miss hot water on demand the most, and go to great lengths to get it.
