I just had a thought. When someone says the WORLD needs Universal Basic Income (UBI), they are talking about third-world nations being funded by rich countries, like the USA, to have a UBI. That is the USA isn't given a UBI itself, it is just paying for the poor workers in other countries who are the sweatshop nations and loosing their jobs to automation and companies pulling out of those countries, like China, for cheaper pastures. Just a thought about a code word, the WORLD, basic income really means.
Well, duh... The left has been looking for a way to diminish the wealth of the US for a very long time.
It is a 'tell', for progressive Indoctrination. The delusion of a one world govt, controlling everything and everyone, is a utopian liberal fantasy. It has never worked, even on a small scale, yet we should give some group or individual absolute power over everyone, to force us into this delusion?
What makes you think that the rich-world will be paying the poor-world nations for a UBI? You've not looked up to see how the UBI works. In fact, it is not in the least bit expected that poor-countries benefit from handouts from rich countries as you say. A far more technical treatment of the subject from the IMF is to be found here: Universal Basic Income: Debate and Impact Assessment
Blah, blah, blah. Pathetic murmurings from the Rabid Right regarding a country with an Income Distribution that is pathetically distorted making of America the Land of the Poorest Rich-Country on Earth. See here ("Gini Coefficients of post-tax-and-benefit income"): Uncle Sam has a lonnnnnnng way to go before achieving a sensible coefficient of around 0.25 to 0.30 ...
