    I don’t see how ?
The fans won’t show up and the stadiums will be empty
Most scary is the virus will come back in Nov and Dec and end the season

    NFL should take 2020 off

They might have to play in empty stadiums, just so people can bet on it.

UNTIL there is a vaccine, spectator sports are done.

They have to play in empty stadiums or not at all.

They won't play in empty stadiums. It'll be all or nothing unfortunately.

    If that is the case.

Then the NFL will have to cancel.

A vast majority of sports fans won't even go to a game before a vaccine is available.

    https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/29018209/poll-fans-attend-games-vaccine

The other side of that is:

If they played in empty stadiums, at least it would be an economic boom for the Multi-Billion Dollar Sports Gambling Industry.

Gambling has nothing to do with it. It has to do with how the NFL makes money. My cousin works for the NFL. Just telling you what he is telling me from his educated guess. Sounds like it's either all or nothing. He doesn't know for sure obviously. If gambling were the biggest issue at hand, March Madness would have been played in empty stadiums.

    I disagree about March Madness.

There was less known about the Virus and an exponentially greater chance for it to be spread from player to player (and then back to campus, before the decision was made to shut down colleges).

How do you disagree? They could have done the same thing that you proposed the NFL is to do...lol

Which is why neither will happen. Empty games isn't how the leagues make any money. Merchandise and ticket sales are MASSIVE when it comes to games. The leagues are trying to avoid LOSING money

The NFL will do what every other sport is doing. No games at all (and restrict pay to players/staff) or full fan games. They can't do games without fans- they lose money.

What if there is some way to negotiate bigger TV fees? Given that we are all feeling deprived of sports, and given that the fans who used to go to the stadiums will have to watch from home, TV viewership would be enhanced, so maybe the league could get the TVs to cough up some additional money to compensate for the loss in ticket and merchandise sales on game days? I understand that these contracts have been negotiated already and are unlikely to change, but maybe the league could say to the TVs, "yes, we have an ongoing contract but the alternative is no games at all and that would hurt your bottom line in ads, on the other hand we are businesses, we can't play while losing money, so let's rework a contract just for this pandemic-hindered season and when the pandemic is gone we'll resume the existing contract and extend it for an additional year to compensate for this anomalous season." I mean, I know nothing about these things and I'm just guessing, maybe completely off-target, but what would your cousin say to that?

Fug that. I wouldnt give them extra.

A deal is a deal or no deal at all.

Ps. I dont feel deprived of sports, actually it's been a blessing, added lots of extra free time.

If and when the NFL starts their 2020 season, don't expect crowds in the stands like in baseball and soccer. Fans can get the action on TV and Radio.

The stupid Dish Network which unfortunately is what I subscribe to, has already lost the Fox channels, now has lost all local channels, and on top of it, has lost the NFL channel and much worse, NFL RedZone which is what I prefer to follow the Sunday games. I'm about to change providers if they don't shape up, cough up the money, and recover the channels.

How is that done? And is it malware infested? Attempts to stream games from from a site I used to visit, rojadirecta.me, was a hit and miss with lots of frozen images and broken links and a lot of malware and trojans that kept my antivirus busy. I no longer visit them. I what you are proposing is the same stuff, I'll pass, but if it is not, then please teach me how to do it.

No, it's American and not APP'd through europe or russia. The problem is, they get shut down a lot. But if you load the channel before reddit shuts it down, you can still view the game until you exit out of it. I've been doing it on the same pc for years. Never once had an issue. Feel free to check out reddit and the comments and see what you think.

Or just go to a bar :)

No bar during the pandemic, for me. Too scared of catching the virus in a bar especially because to eat and drink you have to remove your PPE. By the way, bars in my state remain closed by gubernatorial order.

I've never even consulted reddit before. Is there something else I need to know to locate these feeds?

football should end anyways due to the brain injury risk, Trump even said he would not let his children play football due to the risk

"Trump says he doesn't want Barron playing football"

    https://www.kshb.com/sports/super-bowl/trump-says-he-doesnt-want-barron-playing-football

"Like many parents with young sons, President Donald Trump said football was a dangerous sport and that he would have a hard time letting his son Barron play given the risk of head injuries."

Leave it to the lefties to bring politics into a sports thread. Hah. Create your own thread.

Nothing to know. Reddit is easy to navigate. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. If you need, I can lay out a step by step on how I stream them. Happy to help any way I can.

Yes, please, send me step by step instructions, it will be very appreciated; consider me a newbie in the art of free streaming of sports broadcasts.

I'm 100% obsessed with the NFL (and college football) and I watch every game I can, even between teams that don't interest me, and I get distressed like a drug addict in withdrawal if I know that there is a game going on and I can't watch it. So, already afraid of missing out, yesterday, no kidding, and to my wife's despair, I was going in and out of the house and going to the higher rooms and their windows, trying to get an over-the-air system to work, to see if I could catch any channels this way. College football is restarting and some games that interest me this weekend are on ABC, which is one of the local channels that my satellite provider has lost, in a dispute with their new owner Apollo.

So I was trying to catch ABC over the air and was unable to, given that their antenna is 65 miles away, along a very mountainous range. So at 2 AM I gave up (to my wife's relief) and went to bed but not before ordering from Amazon a signal amplifier, to try again. I'm not very hopeful even with the amplifier as I was totally unable to get a signal except for 4 channels, neither one being channels that feature live football.

But if I have an easy way to stream these games online, all this over-the-air mess will not need to happen.

Get rid of Dish and get Hulu live. That's also an easy option. And yes, I'll send you the play-by-play on how to stream a couple hours before tomorrow's game. Reddit users will post the link right before the game so we have to wait to see who posts it. Then click it, let it load, and then don't exit out.
