We have to save mankind. I hope you understand and good luck in your new life as a dirt farmer.

I use to think that Al Gore and his Leftist followers were cranks, when they said that Man was killing the planet. But, I'm a believer now.

We are killing the planet for God's sake!! Green lightbulbs will never be enough. If the third world and non-nuclear armed states are allowed to use carbon, we will all die!

The pea and shell game is the one that "warmers" have been playing for years.

Hmm I had no idea that meteorologist and weather records existed for the last 11,000 years. I guess I learned something new today.

Whats up with this site doing double post?

Wow, the abundance of ridiculous straw men arguments how in denial the climate change isn't real crowd are.

If you don't ride your bicycle to work, climate chamge isn't real? Is that the argument.

If you would read the article, it gives the methods use to obtain climate trends.

The point is that there is no denying now that almost everybody has to ride bicycles forever. This is about the survival of Mankind. It's time to get serious. Our over-population and industrialization in the third world are going to wipe out us and many of the animals out. We have to stop it with force if need be. Al Gore was right all along.

The climate has been changing for billions of years, and it will continue to do so. But there is question that remains unanswered by those who believe in "man made climate change". Just who decided that our present climate is the optimal one?

Cute straw man. Why is it that denialists have to bring up al gore all the time? Do you have anything to say about the actual study?

I don't think anyone is claiming the present climate is the optimal one. There is ocean is rising and acidifying, corals are bleaching, forests are disappearing and devastating droughts are impacting the globe. But as climate change continues, these effects will only get worse.

The climate, like your underpants, does not change by itself

There is always a reason for the climate to change - orbital variations, solar variance, increased volcanic activity........

Yet we have politicians who are willing to spend trillions of others peoples money to change something that hasn't been proven to be our fault. And therein lays the problem. It has gone from a discussion about climate to a political football.

Actually it has been as close to proven as science gets to be human caused. The global scientific consensus is that the climate is changing and humans are the cause.

And yet when I point out we can lower our carbon output, become energy independant, and boost our economy through efficiency upgrades, your ilk acts like it can't hear me!

It always amazes me that where you live doesn't seem to have much of a bearing on your opinion of man made climate change.

I live in the pacific northwest, the worst thing that happens here is that our summers become 3 months long instead of 2, and we get 8 days of snow instead of 1.

Now if you live where your summers already get to 110 degrees, or are hit with severe weather regularly, I would think you would be more concerned by the possibility.

Camels used to live in the Arctic. When the weather changes enough they will go back to their ancestral home range.

Hmmmm - and the latest finding is that when that happened there was desert all the way around the tropics***

Now Australia owns most of the Antarctic, the only real landmass that will become available if things get that bad - so - what is the rest of the world going to do??

An ancient ancestor of the camel lived in the arctic about 3.5 million years ago. These camels were larger and hairier than modern camels.

Are the AGW deniers this daft? Do you all REALLY think we can keep pumping tons of CO2 in the atmosphere w/o consequences?

    Deforestation

While we are pumping tons of C02 in the atmosphere, we are chopping down the trees that help take CO2 out of the atmosphere - a double whammy.

Do you HONESTLY think we can continue doing this w/o sever consequences?

Now if it will get warm enough to grow cocoa trees in the Yukon we'll be in good shape.

I'm still freezing. It's been especially cold for this time of year. I have the heater on constantly. Good thing I have a bunch of nice incandescent bulbs to help keep me warm...
