Yep, just goes to show these awards are pretty much meaningless.

The second-place candidate for the Social Justice Award ought to be pretty upset about this. He should confront one of the judges in a dark alley, sucker punch him, and pound the judge's head into the hard pavement! This will guarantee that he gets the award for 2013, even if the judge has a gun and blows him away.

As long as the runner up is a violent criminal he should do well. Chris Dorner was trying for it but just went a little overboard. It is hard to defend a serial killer/ terrorist but I am sure the progs would like to.

Wasn't Willie Horton one of the past winners? If he wasn't, he got cheated and the judges are lucky he didn't take revenge on them.

We should all have the courage to stand up to somebody who is harassing or oppressing us.

If Trayvon Martin confronted and fought back against the person who was stalking him at night, especially if he intended to kill Martin with his gun, then Martin had every right to fight back. If Martin 'stood his ground' against his pursuer then he's a brave kid and deserves praise for that alone.

Congratulations! You've just won the daily prize for the poster who used the word "if"the most times. Your prize is a rubber Halloween mask (licensed by S and T to a Chinese company) of T's face with that cute 'gold grille'. 'Allow three to four months for delivery'.

I really didn't mean to upset you with my "if's".

Meanwhile, Trayvon had every right to defend himself from a stalker.

I'm not going anywhere. Deal with it. Learn to quote.

Here's my issue.. If they can ignore the rights of a black teen.. they can also ignore my rights.

When you concern yourself with 'social justice'.. you should first read the Sermon on the Mount. That's what its about. Ghandi understood Roman oppression perfectly.. few Christians do.

I just get annoyed when dummies rant about 'social justice" as if they were parrots and/or HS drop outs.

This is about "if's" it is about facts and evidence. "Stalking" is a specific illegal act which did not occur so why do you say it did. And what you are saying is that Zimmerman intended to kill Martin for some strange unstated reason, so he called the police and urged them to get there so they could watch or something?

Martin had NO cause to assault Zimmerman and threaten him with serious bodily harm or death. There is not a shred of evidence to support that assertion. The fact is Martin ran off, back to the apartment where he simply could have gone inside and be alive today. He CHOOSE to go back and confront Zimmerman. THAT start the second encounter which resulted in Martin's death.

Now prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman was not defending himself from serious bodily harm when he fired the shot.

They are more focused on a good story that fits their bias than the actual facts . That's why they are devoid of them .

Mine too. If anyone can stalk somebody and then shoot them if they object, we're all in danger... especially in SYG States.

Not only was Zimmerman stalking Martin but he was warned not to by the police.

    Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/20/trayvon-martin-final-moments_n_1366697.html

If Zimmerman just stayed by his car like he was told then a Martin would still be alive today. Instead, he stalked, hunted and killed Martin like an animal.

Odd , your proof fails to mention stalking a single time . You failed to back up your stalking claim , try again . Its also odd that the dad was there but did nothing to help his dying son.

OK here is the Florida statute covering stalking, explain how Zimmerman's actions meet the criteria to be a stalking

    (2) Any person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows or harasses another person commits the offense of stalking, a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

    (3) Any person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows or harasses another person, and makes a credible threat with the intent to place that person in reasonable fear of death or bodily injury, commits the offense of aggravated stalking, a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.

And if a black teen can without cause assault and threaten one person with serious bodily injury or death they can assault you.

What "right" did Martin have to assault and threaten Zimmerman?

No he wasn't. The only time he talked to the police was after the shooting.

Problem is, the extremists don't believe that SYG applies to black people.

Very true. Bernard Goetz showed that law is colorblind. He should be in prison and instead he's hailed as a hero because his victims were black.

SYG laws only exacerbate the situation. If only there was a test that forbid racists from owning guns.
