Who runs the state is irrelevant. The actual majority of criminals committing the gun crimes are in inner cities which are located in counties that vote democrat.

Perhaps question the liberal democratic party on why they are trying to hard to cater to the demographic that is proven to be most likely to engage in criminal activity? Ask them why they are doing nothing to condemn the actions of their selected voting constituents, and instead are working to shield them from the consequences of their own criminal actions?

I answered the question. You're asking another one. You take measures to reduce the risk within the population at risk. That doesn't include penalizing the rest of us.
