But we are safe; we are incredibly safe.

    Incredibly.

    Safe.

This was an EXTREMELY rare incident; you're more likely to win the lottery than to be a victim in a situation like this.

I really don't understand why people are choosing irrational hysteria here... :(

You can. You just need the right permits. You can have rpgs, grenades... hell I can go down to my local farm supply store and buy binary explosives by filling out 2 forms and waiting a couple weeks.

David Harsyani: When You Announce That We Must Do Something About Guns Without Having the Slightest Idea What Guns Were Used Or How They Were Acquired, You Give the Game Away -- You're Not Interested in Reducing Gun Crime, But in Reducing Gun Ownership

It was remarkable that fat drunk Hillary Clinton immediately began propagandizing against a gun accessory that definitely was not used in the attack -- suppressors (which she called "silencers").

I've always said that if we had to use chopsticks everyone would weigh less, but I follow Sumo wrestling, so I guess that's not so.

I can substantially eliminate the threat obesity poses to my own health through the exercise of just a little will power, (so my doctor tells me) so can you, so can anyone. The 59 people this guy killed never had that option.

    Sorry, don't agree with you.

Criminals, scumbags and terrorists are responsible for ALL our crime. The "gun culture" is actually a culture of independence, self-reliance, and helping the less fortunate. The gun culture is military veterans, police, and private citizens. They are NOT responsible for crime.

This case is pretty similar to Charles Whitman's shooting spree in 1966.

I will not be suprise if they found a brain tumor in Paddock's head.

Some sources are speculating that the shooter was using a trigger crank or a bumpstock. Judging from the way the speed of fire changes, I think they're right. If you listen, it sounds like its winding up and down slightly during sustained fire.

If you own and use something as a part of your living you are part of that thing's culture by any logical definition of the word I can think of. A large portion of the people who own and use guns as part of their living are illegal gang members. Your apparent assertion, that just because lots of law-abiding people also use guns then guns are never used by criminals, is patently ridiculous nonsense on its face.

I've had a deep, dark thought creep into my suspicious mind.

Question: do we know for a FACT that the shooter was this Stephen Paddock person? Do we know for a FACT that someone else didn't do the shooting, and then Paddock was released into the room, made to look like he committed suicide, and then was found by the police -- while the real shooter escaped...?

I don't usually dabble in weird, conspiracy theories, but every single thing I've read about this Stephen Paddock guy suggests to me that he is the total OPPOSITE of someone who would have done anything like this!

By every description I've read about him, he was:
    1. A carefree millionaire, who owned a nice house, two airplanes, and enjoyed what he loved most in life -- gambling, in the gambling capital of the USA.
    2. A guy with no religious hangups or affiliations.
    3. A guy with no political hangups or affiliations.
    4. A 'normal' guy with a girl friend who also seemed quite 'normal'... no evident problems between them.
    5. A hunter, a fisherman, a former Texan who had no obvious weirdness or radical crap in his past.

I just don't get it. So, was he a "patsy"? Was he a victim of an elaborate "set-up"? Was he a "Manchurian Candidate"...? Nothing about Stephen Paddock makes ANY sense if he was, indeed, the Las Vegas shooter.... :confusion:

Inert yes but not under NFA. See the Destructive devices and "Any other Weapon" clause. It includes Molotov Cocktails, Anti-Tank guns (over .50 cal) Bazookas and Mortars. Any other weapons would include H&R Handyguns, Ithaca Auto-Burglar guns, cane guns and most gadget type "pen" guns. Believe it or not, even certain types of potato guns have been ruled illegal by ATF.

For explosives, no. You can buy Aluminum Nitrate, Ammonium Nitrate, nitric acid, etc. but in order to get needed blasting caps you will need a blasting permit in most states. This generally requires at least 1,000 hours of training from another licensee. Oh, you also need an explosives license from BATF-E.
It can be done but takes longer than a couple weeks.

For what it's worth, your stoopid picture of a grainy random guy - who doesn't even resemble the shooter - is whacked on stilts.

Cart it back to the RW swamp you got it from.

Well obviously he was spraying the crowd. Full auto is not precise shot placement.
Seems we can remove about 225 feet from that google map measurement. If you look the measurement has a dogleg in it at the building. No bullets fly at 90 degree angles.

Just the thought of the guy being a vagina hat wearing nut job has you automatically denying the possibility, eh? You know, I know, we all know, the media probably already dug up his voter registration, it was probably the first thing they looked for. Any idea what they found?

People are choosing the "irrational hysteria" of being concerned about their very lives because what the frack use are guns to me that I should have to buy into a Lotto on my life every time I go out the god-cursed door.

I used to collect and display maps. I liked to do it, it occupied my time and fascinated my interest. But if it were to come about that maps were very dangerous things and directly killing people somehow I would give them up. I would even get rid of my Atlases and cancel Google Earth if I had ever found out that keeping them were somehow directly killing ANY people, let alone hundreds, annually.

Why can't you do the same? Why is your hobby worth ANYONE'S life?

Wow. You are some kinda gullible to fall for that random, grainy pic. My lord.

10 to 1 you've given money to "Nigerian Prince" emails promising you money.

10 rpm ? Ok you've just banned every gun besides a single shot. One has to wonder if you did that on purpose or really have no clue what your talking about.
You also propose strict laws for the victims of crime? That's seriously screwed up thinking.
I've never seen the word "hunters" anywhere in the 2nd amendment.

Obviously nerds shouldn't be allowed to create laws until their intelligence improves.
