PHILADELPHIA – The opioid crisis ravaging many parts of the country is impacting a group usually untouched by the drug wars – pets.http://www.foxnews.com/health/2018/04/17/opioid-epidemics-forgotten-victims-pets.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+foxnews/health+(Internal+-+Health+-+Text) Abolish the DEA, tell the feds to drop dead, and stopping forcing individuals to the streets of the black market. End of problem for humans and their pets. Let's start living as free souls and demand that we decide for ourselves what is good or bad, instead of living as slaves for the government trolls who feed their power lust by treating individuals as mice in a maze.
There was a case in California where they caught a guy pimping out his dogs for drug money: http://www.wric.com/news/dogs-believed-to-be-rented-for-sex-in-california-rescued/1059976924 this is pretty bad too: People maiming their pets to score drugs
As tempting as it might be for many simple-minded people, you can't just lay all the blame on an inanimate substance, there are a multitude of deeper underlying causes. Pain in Middle America
It becomes a social and societal problem when masses of idiots cause extensive harm to themselves and their families through such stupidity. There is a reasonable boundary between society looking out for its members and allowing us personal freedom.
If its economic pain causing opioid abuse, then the answer is capitalism, not more government help, regulation, and interference in the market place. Free men have the right to choose freely that which they want in exchange for that which they've earned. No one--not my neighbors, not God, not society, not the government--has the right to force me to live my life as they deem proper. It's my life, not theirs. Let them clean their own toilets and soiled underwear and leave me alone. Do-gooders are nothing but lying, thieving hypocrites.
To hell with society. Any society that believes it has the right to point a gun at an individual's head and demand he live as they deem proper is no longer a society of men; it's a society of cannibalistic tyrants. They deserve the destruction they wrought.
you believe the government should tell you what to put in your body? Do you think the government should be able to tell a woman what to do with their body?
Maybe tie the free drugs to sterilization so these people can't reproduce. I don't have a problem forcing individuals into drug treatment and sobriety if their "lifestyle choice" has been demonstrated to be destructive to other individuals in society.
Hmmm? So you agree that answer to drug induced pet problems is to get the government out of drug regulation, and make all drugs available on the free market so that the fools can rot--or get help if they choose, and let wise prosper without being robbed in the name of their moral and intellectual inferiors? Interesting. I liked the "trusting to vote" remark. We can't choose our drugs, but we can choose our masters, who know better than us what drugs we should use. LOL at the obvious contradiction that flies over the head of the do-gooders.
I wouldn't say that, exactly. I'd say the type of regulations should be changed, and it should all be based off a completely different framework. Allow liberty until those liberties have been demonstrated to have been abused, or at least allow other third options that work for everybody. More options = more freedom People won't be breaking the law if you can cajole them into a compromise that's tolerable to them. (They have to live somewhere else if they want to continue their drug addiction, if their drug use has caused them to commit crime, possibly be sterilized too, if they've had a child and their drug addiction prevents them from being able to provide proper care to that child)
Freedom has no limits except to protect the right of an individual's freedom. BTW: It's not surprising that a fanatical Christian mystic would think his faith gives him the right to trump my reason. It's that kind of religious logic and fanaticism that caused the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center to fall.
Maybe you could put some blame on the pharma executives that push doctors to overprescribe opiates. Opiates are a chemical need for opiate addicts, and withdrawal will kill them. It's possible to wean them off, but it's very difficult without constant medical supervision and relapse rates are high unless the recovering addict has a strong support system. The majority of opiate addicts started with a real prescription. The fact is, when you need opiates just to keep the agony and possible death of withdrawal at bay, it's pretty reasonable to switch to cheaper street versions like heroin so that you get more bang for your buck. And if your prescription runs out, that's another reason to switch to street opiates.
What's the limit? How much should the government control of your body? Are you saying what China did (or maybe still does) with the parents being limited to how many children they can have?
I say my rights are only limited by your rights--and the only way either of our rights can be violated is by the initiation of force, which the do-gooders do with every government regulation they demand, vote for, and get. I offer as empirical evidence the disaster of prohibition, the effects of which we are still dealing with today.

Give 'em the dope (and I mean give it to them) providing they're willing to register and behave themselves. If they can't behave, we lock 'em up. Time to end the insane "war on drugs."
I hope people see this and understand the same thing will happen with guns. All you will do is take guns out of the hands of the legal owners and the black market will thrive even more. Telling a human NOT to do something is often a recipe for that human to immediately do exactly that
1) Addicts--let them rot, and dispose of them properly 2) If parents neglect their children, whether it be from drugs, alcohol, religious mysticism, insanity, or whatever, take the kids and prosecute the parent according to what justice demands. 3) If sterilization is deem necessary under the realm of reason, then do it--but you better be damn sure your morally right.
Give them nothing but the right to live their lives as they see fit. Murder, rape, theft, and fraud are already illegal, and justly so. Its irrelevant to justice as to the why of the crime.
There is nothing reasonable about violating my right to live my life as I see fit...and I don't use drugs; I use reason. A “right” is a moral principle defining and sanctioning a man’s freedom of action in a social context. There is only one fundamental right (all the others are its consequences or corollaries): a man’s right to his own life. Life is a process of self-sustaining and self-generated action; the right to life means the right to engage in self-sustaining and self-generated action—which means: the freedom to take all the actions required by the nature of a rational being for the support, the furtherance, the fulfillment and the enjoyment of his own life. (Such is the meaning of the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.)... Man holds these rights, not from the Collective nor for the Collective, but against the Collective—as a barrier which the Collective cannot cross; . . . these rights are man’s protection against all other men.--Ayn Rand; http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/individual_rights.html "Whatever may be open to disagreement, there is one act of evil that may not, the act that no man may commit against others and no man may sanction or forgive. So long as men desire to live together, no man may initiate—do you hear me? no man may start—the use of physical force against others."--Ayn Rand; http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/physical_force.html
