So do the Trump supporters also believe Article 2 allows the President to do whatever he wants? Is everyone in agreement? Good for the country?
The constitution has always been "good for the country". When did you start thinking it wasn't? Nov. 9, 2016
Now answer the original question? Do you believe Article 2 allows the President to do whatever he wants? Can I get you on the record here?
You got me on the record. I'm an originalist, and A2 says a sitting president can't be indicted. A2 says congress must exercise the only judicial power they have and impeach the president. What are you confused about?
I didn’t ask about impeachment. And the Trump claims he can do whatever he wants. Agree with Trump? Also can you highlight the text that forbids indictments?
First I don't believe Trump said he can do anything he wants. Second, as I point out A2 says the president CAN'T do anything he wants, and I agree with A2.
That’s cool even if it doesn’t even answer the question. It does answer one not asked. So I can a public criticism from you of our President then? https://www.nbcrightnow.com/nationa...deo_5e2c7569-b0db-5d2b-ac71-84e5b452d663.html
You know his grievance is that Nadler's not a judge and the (D) committee majority ain't a jury. Nadler is going to try and convict Trump in the liberal court of public opinion tomorrow. Trump haters are pissed because a conviction in that court means less than spit.
It is a video of Trump speaking. How much more credibility you want? Can we clear something up. I 1000% do not support impeachment or any indictment or claim of crimes by our President. Your misdirection isn’t required.
Lots of context there! When, where, in response to what, regarding what presidential authority? I suspect it related to Comey's firing or Trump's reply to rumors he might fire Mueller. A2 grants a lot of presidential powers. Pardons, treaties, appointments. Your snipet is a joke.
My internet is down at the moment and I'm doing this on my phone. I'll try to find a source other than "nbcrightnow.com" when I can do some proper research. That site won't even come up for me, and it sounds like it might be a spoof site. I need to know exactly what he said, and the context around it, before I can form an opinion and construct an argument.
For the record ... congress has voted on introducing articles of impeachment a half dozen times. That's the authority congress is granted by A2. Essentially with each failed vote to impeach, congress has exonerated Trump ...
Would like to see where it says a sitting president can it be indicted. I believe the constitution does not forbid it, but we as a nation are smart enough not to do it. Either way I only support one method to remove a sitting President. Elections
I have the A2 text open in a second browser window. But maybe my 250 yr old copy's A2 hasn't been updated Show me what your copy says about indicting the president.
Ok, I asked you and your reply is to ask a question back. You made a claim so it’s your responsibility to provide your objective evidence. Not me But I have made my point. Even when our President says something so ludicrous. His proponents refuse to criticize.
Hold on ... you posted " would like to see where it says a sitting president can it be indicted" Kinda word salad-ish ... but I haven't claimed a president can be indicted. I said my original copy says nothing about indicting a president, and asked if your copy said otherwise. Congress has voted down impeachment numerous times. Each time congress fails to pass articles of impeachment, they admit they have insuficient reason and evidence to prosecute the president for the alleged crime. Trump has been exonerated by congress on numerous occasions.
Yes can it should have been can’t. Sometimes I need to slow my type down. Congress should vote it down. Every time. The Gingrich clan should have too. In the absence of high crimes
I don't get your argument. If congress refuses to impeach under any circumstances then Trump can do anything he wants. Like adjourn congress indefinitely as outlined in section 3 of A2.
Not a treaty ... but an "Iran deal" yes. Why? Are you suggesting Thump's "do anything I want " means entering treaties without Senate approval?
