I am seriously tempted to refute your points--most would be very easy to refute, in fact--but the fact remains that you have originated your rants with a red herring--i.e. the belief that Roe v. Wade is about to be repealed. If only you could offer any serious evidence to back up this belief, I would gladly--gladly!--engage you in further conversation. But, of course, you cannot...
Is this code for: "Republicans believe it's the parents' job to care for the born child, since they chose to make it"?
"Republicans believe it's the parents' job to care for the born child, since they chose to make it"""...and if it suffers or needs food and health care , to hell with it....it's ONLY "precious life" when it's in the womb.

Or have the contraception fail, which happens about 3% of the time. I've read where Americans of child bering age have sex about 40 - 50 million times a year, so with a 3% failure rate that is potentially what - about a million unplanned pregnancies each year.
Pregnancy is the easiest thing in the world to avoid. 100% certainty is absolutely possible. Chemical + barrier, surgical, abstinence. There are endless ways. That 3% is a risk taken, wilfully.
Federal regulations of fully automatic weapons has resulted in very few crimes committed with these weapons. There is no getting around the fact that, gun laws, at the federal level, meaning they apply to all states, those laws can work.

So you believe the demise of the mafia was the result of gun laws? There is no getting around the fact that our laws were the reason they gained power in the first place. The war on drugs is an example. Anyone who wants drugs or a bullet hose can get it.
So quit pretending it's an act of god, and that poor innocent women have no say in it. They have full autonomy over their own bodies, remember. When you eventually grasp that outside of rape all pregnancies are a choice, the repugnance of abortion might finally sink in.
Every.single.time. You folk very quickly retreat to the rarest of exceptions in order to bolster your terrible argument.
, I'm an atheist and NEVER said it was an act of god. NEVER said that either..... why do you have to make stuff up ? No GOOD argument ?? I haven't forgotten....tell that to those who want to strip women of the right of bodily autonomy, a right everyone else has... , NOPE, a woman can have sex a thousand times all the while "choosing" to get pregnant and she may not. I think you might want to study the science.... women cannot get pregnant by CHOOSING to. It isn't repugnant to me....it's what happens....you seem to think women having the right to their own bodies is repugnant...
FreshAir said: ↑ if they are forced to have their rapists baby, it's not really a choice NOPE, just giving an example.....the poster stated a fact. I didn't see them or anyone else using rape to "bolster" an argument. When Anti-Choicers claim they'd make an exception for rape I ask : how is an abortion due to rape any different from an abortion due to consensual sex? Aren't "ALL lives precious"? Aren't they both, according to Anti-Choicers, murder? And I never get an answer..... And please don't say what some of them do, claim I don't know the difference between rape an consensual sex....I'm talking about ABORTION, the procedure and outcome, and how that differs..
You choose the act, you choose the consequences. That's reality. We all know that truth, from childhood. Our justice system, and all foundational moral and social codes would be worthless without it. We'd live in utter chaos and barbarity. So you're effectively saying that women (and only women, apparently) are too stupid or childlike to understand it.
NEVER said that either..... why do you have to make stuff up ? No GOOD argument ?? Cherry picking and making things up, the stuff those with no argument do...
There's a somewhat related thread about this irony here: Two women in NYC arrested for protesting outside an abortion clinic
Given that only 20% of rapes are reported, you really have no idea how many abortions are actually for women who have suffered a rape. So unless you are given the power to FORCE every woman seeking an abortion into also proving a rape, then how would you know. And after watching what happens to woman who charge rape go through the added trauma of court appearances and having the issue dragged through social media and the press, I think that FORCING a woman to go through that is tantamount to a second rape. Close your eyes and imagine your daughter, or wife, or other loved ones being FORCED into the public limelight and/or then FORCED to carry their rapist's baby to term. There is simply no way to justify that.
Why the constant deflection in abortion threads bringing up other topics? Do you think we should have a discussion on rape in every single thread about abortion?
