You could die of anything in that scenario. A car accident on the way to the political rally, for example.

I do not buy into the whole liberal spin narrative. So, unless you can provide a link to the actual tapes. It is all mute. But let me ask you this. Biden claims that he knew the deadly effects of the Coronavirus back in January. So, why was he still doing rallies in March? As a matter of fact President Trump only did one rally in March, Biden held at least 8 rallies. Including rallies in LA, Detroit and Philadelphia. All COVID-19 hot spots. So, is he lying about knowing back in January, or did he just not care?

Like many, I have a school age son, people who are either elderly or susceptible to sickness and need information not a bombastic fool who wants to play tough guy. OTOH Biden does not know if he is dead or alive.....we just may be screwed

President Trump issued a travel ban on people comming in from Europe on March 12. At the time, there were less then 6,000 recorded cases in the entire EU. A month before, there were no recorded cases of COVID-19 in the EU.
    https://www.statista.com/statistics/1102209/coronavirus-cases-development-europe/

Hindsight is always 20/20, but based on the data available at the time your point is invalid.

It's not a matter of being callous. There has to be a balance between the extremes of "killing everyone" and "killing the economy". The answer is in the middle.

People are assessing the risks differently, and coming to different opinions on where the "correct" balance is in the grey area. Too bad this has become political instead of rational.

Calling circles and lines "overboard" and "virtue signaling" clearly is being triggered.

Imagine holding the president responsible for every single negative thing that happens every single day, week and year. All that stress and anger has to be pretty rough on the immune system.

We're holding him responsible for knowing one thing about the biggest pandemic we've faced in over a century and saying something else to the public. There's no excuse for this kind of dereliction of duty. He, admittedly, lied to the public about the threat we were facing. Period. Yes, it is okay to be upset about that.

If you are going to quote statistics, learn how to read them first. Your link said there were just under 6,000 new cases recorded THAT DAY.

We don’t want anyone to panic, therefore, our Southern Governors should be downplaying every hurricanes to a category 1.

    Italy:

March 8th: Locked down some northern provinces
March 9th: Lock down extended nation wide
March 11th: Bars and restaurants closed
March 12th: Factories and non-essential businesses closed.

    U.S. response, as Italy spiked:
March 11th: Trump adds travel ban from the E.U., specifically mentioning concerns about Italy and Spain. (U.S. citizens excluded.)
March 13th: Trump declares National Emergency
March 17th: Trump asks everyone to work at home, if possible, postpone unnecessary travel, and limit social gatherings to no more than 10 people.

(Note: The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic on March 11th.)

Seems like we have been reasonably responsive.

Be upset if that suits you. Trump was not saying anything terribly different from the medical experts or other government leaders at the time, except saying he thought it might go away with warm weather, which was obviously contradicted by the many experts who he selected on the Task Force Team which he organized.

We got a brief sound bite out of who knows how many minutes of tape. We have what he did say. We do not have what he did not say in context of the entire interview.

Uphold your right to be upset though. Hope you have some sunshine in your day and feel better soon. Being upset really isn't healthy.

Trump was saying something terribly different from what he knew to be true. He lied about on of the biggest threats we've faced in over a century. Not being upset about that isn't healthy. Sometimes the truth matters more than "sunshiny" lies, especially when so many lives are on the line. Life matters more than Trump's ego. I can't believe this is somehow a controversial thought.

Okay. Robert Redfield gave a Covid update today to the Senate Appropriations Committee.

This is what he advised today:

    Wash your hands
    Wear a mask in public
    Stay 6ft away from others
    Be smart about crowds
    Stay home when sick

What CDC is adding one item to that recommendation list for fall:
    Get a flu shot

Now, did Trump say anything which would have negated any of that information? Seriously. As soon as CDC and my state governor or city mayor made recommendations, most everyone was complying.

This "sunshiny lies" story is much ado about nothing. Next.

Trump knew this was, in his own words, 5 times deadlier than the flu. He lied about that to the public, saying it was equivalent to the flu. He knew one thing. He said another. This was a lie. About a serious topic. Why do you find it difficult to acknowledge the facts that he, himself, has admitted? What would it take for you to address these basic points? Why will no Trump supporter acknowledge the truth here? Literally none. I've found NO Trump supporter on this forum willing to admit the things that Trump has admitted himself. Why? Why is hero worship more important than the truth? Why is hero worship more important than lives?

Or those of us who had already caught it a year ago and didn’t suffer much worse than a bad cold. Did you know that coronavirus is one of the causes of the common cold? What is COVID-19 again?

How do you know what else he might have said? You don't. We get out of context soundbites all the time these days. When all the facts come out, the entire interpretation changes. Woodward is selling books. He writes books trashing every president. That's what he does.

Why did Fauci and team keep telling us not to wear masks for months? We found out later it's because they didn't want us mere citizens stockpiling masks because healthcare workers needed the supply we had available. How do you know that the Task Force didn't advice Trump to downplay what he heard at the time not to panic people?

Stats, models, estimates, numbers and our knowledge have changed weekly and sometimes daily. The "five times" as deadly from February is not even accurate today.

The deadliest viral epidemic we've faced in over a century. That's what it is. Get it now?
