Check it out.....mainstream "religion" has been dieing for decades as they become secular and "go along to get along". The idea is if I have to compromise my faith to appease the culture, why have faith at all? I don't have a problem with anyone that wants to be fiscally conservative and I do think I have a partial streak of libertarianism in me. Just don't think meth should be condoned in our society.

If it were true it would be scary, but it is only opinion.

Total nonsense. Trump tried to take away folks' health care in 2017 and gave 85% of the personal tax cut to people making $400,000 per year.

You might note that the economy grew at the same rate during Trump's first three years that it did in Obama's last three.

Unemployment under Trump just continued a trend that began under Obama.

Joe Biden beat back Warren and Sanders and will govern from the center. Your party is stuck out on the extreme right and will have to move back to the middle.

Or we can wait for the middle to come to us. Which Trump policies do you consider extreme, anyway?

It's an educated opinion. But we are sleepwalking into a war because of the blithe, low-info opinion of millions of Americans that "we can take them, no problem." We cannot win a war against the Chinese in their home region. But American stupidity is probably going to make us learn the hard way.

I haunt the right wing echo chamber and I have yet to see anyone suggest a war with China.

The GOP remains a party of higher-income groups. Trump's tax cuts for rich folks and efforts to remove protection for people with preexisting conditions show who's really in charge.

War is not the interest of either country. China will connive itself into power in the U.S.

The middle now is extreme Socialism. No we aren't moving there. Trump did not take away anyone's healthcare. That is how Democrat's work. They get government to supply everything at the expense of taxpayers then when we try to overturn it.....it is like taking away an imagined "God given right". Makes me sick!

Biden never beat back ANY Socialist. He, like Obama just tries to quiet them down so he can go "Stealth Socialist".

Because it's madness on the face of it. However, our military is forward-positioned in the region already, and there are plenty of hostages to fortune out there that could lead to a Sino-U.S. war: the independence of Taiwan, the defense of Japan's national interests (including over disputed islands), and the integrity of the NK regime. Any of those could spark a conflict, and if one came I predict many conservatives would be suddenly banging the war-drums. Not only conservatives, in fact, but conservatives would be the first with the war-paint on. Conservatives are more likely to threaten war with China over possible freedom-of-navigation disputes in the SCS, than other Americans. We really dodged a bullet on this, when it comes to the Trump "presidency."

The road to peace is to be prepared for War. No appeasement here.

The entirety of the huge build-up of the Chinese Navy and Air Force this century, has been geared towards an eventual confrontation with the United States. The Chinese are not a naturally belligerent culture and civilization (in contrast with the Russians, say); following the teachings of Sunzi they would rather "win without fighting," if they can. But they will eventually fight to expel us from the region, if it becomes necessary. Their position is getting stronger by the year.

We need to understand what is in the true U.S. national interest. Trying to dominate the globe militarily is not in the U.S. interest. It will end in tears - for us.

I agree with that last phrase. Appeasement is not the answer. We do not go along with a Nation that enslaves it's citizens. Only Democrats, the NBA and Nike do those things.

As I recall Trump explicitly gave Xi a pass on his soft-genocide of Chinese Muslims. Seems like appeasement of that kind is just fine with you.

Anyway, calling simple balance-of-power politics "appeasement" just goes to show how Trump voters are just as much Neocon as anyone else. It's a dangerous Globalist arrogance, and it could lead to a war that could destroy the United States.

There is a right way - and stupid way - to confront China. Trump showed us the stupid way. Hopefully we can learn from his negative example. But I doubt it.

Tax cuts for rich people. Weak support for people impacted by COVID-19. His effort to do away with protections for people with preexisting medical conditions.

They may seem extreme to you but not to most Republicans. I doubt many moderate Republicans will bolt over such issues.

I think it will be the moderate Democrats who ill bolt over Defund the Police, reduced border security, reparations and forgiving student debt, all of which are unpopular.

What a question. Which Trump policies do you consider extreme? One could spend the rest of the day dealing with that one. How does the country function when one party has become the post truth party. Not only do norms no longer matter, but truth no longer counts for much.

The political middle in this country is "extreme socialism?" Since when are people talking about collectivizing production?
Trump tried in 2017 to remove protection against charging more for people with preexisting conditions on all new policies. McCain stopped him.

Some bad news for you--the majority of Americans support Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and Obamacare.

Do you know what a real socialist actually supports?

I notice you ran away from discussing my two graphs.

Trump had the right design. Make fair trade with those that want honest trade. Become that example others want to follow ( had good influence in the mideast) Build and maintain a strong military. Demand contributions from any allies. We do not need to dominate. That's the goal of China and the Democrats.

Did you know that since we withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord we have emitted less emissions than those other countries? We don't need to have babysitters. They just want to weaken us.
