Mega rich. His list was just the rich. Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates were #1 and #2.

Everyone in this country can get health care and I don't want to be like those other countries who never perform as we do and we are constantly having to protect them and get them out of trouble. You want cheaper college then get the government OUT OF IT. I'm all for cheap college so the first thing we can do is cut the pay of all these professors who do nothing and tell them they actually have to teach and run their classes and then go weed out the bloated administrations and CUT THEIR COST.

So what is the fair share of the tax burden of the "rich". The top 1% pay 40% of income taxes, the top 20% pays almost 90%, the bottom half pays virtually nothing and in fact make money off the tax system. So if that is not fair enough what would be. Biden was hyping is Bill Against America today and he kept repeating the rich aren't paying their fair share of the tax burden. If you agree then tell me exactly what should that distribution be in order to be fair. Be specific so we can discuss the difference.

Yes they do and the more successful the more they do so. It is government who does not because they have no reason to, they can just raise taxes to cover the cost. Can a business just keep raising prices to cover the cost of inefficiency? We are as productive as we have ever been and the productivity is do to private businesses find better ways to do things to make their production and management more efficient. And that is quite clear when looking back a decade, two decades, three decades however long ago you want to look. And the more we get unions out of the way the more that gets while still improving the standard of living for everyone.

Is the purpose of a business to hire as many people as possible or make a return on the investors capital and assets? Do you invest for your retirement? Do you make sure you only invest in companies that hire more people than they need and don't care about making a profit? Can you name me some of these successful companies? I can name an entity that does that but it is not a company, can you guess who it is?

That plus cut corners, fire workers. You seem to forget business exists sole to make a profit. By any means necessary.

No you can't just keep raising prices because your competitors who ARE operating more efficiently won't do so. No you just can't fire workers else you will not be able to make enough product or provide enough of the service to bring in enough revenue to pay the bills and wages. I am the one who pointed out why business exist why are you saying I forgot it. It why they DO operate as efficiently as possible producing the best product or service they can to do so. Government have no interest in providing better service or doing things more efficiently they CAN just keep raising prices.

So you DO think businesses should police potential customers for 'suitability'?

Please make up your mind. You contradict yourself repeatedly.

Oh .. you thought Lefty's don't like money? And even funnier, you managed to hold that bizarre opinion in the era of the Raving Capitalist Progressive. LOLs. Well you best let all those middle and upper class or business owning Progs know they need to start living in poverty. Wouldn't want anyone thinking those $7 coffees and overseas holidays indicate a lust for filthy lucre.

Explain how that can be done, please. How does a business avoid exploiting someone who isn't up to snuff? Describe how you'd do it, if you were running an 'ethical' business.

So you DON'T think businesses should police potential customers for weaknesses etc?

Explain exactly what that means, in practice. How will you protect the 'wrong' people from themselves, by preventing them accessing your products or services. Since you feel so strongly that that's how businesses should behave, you must have a complete vision for its implementation. Just describe exactly how 'treating customers fairly and honestly' works, in practice.

PS: If you think it's 'fair' to tell someone they can't buy your product because you have deemed them insufficiently worthy, then you and I have very different ideas on fairness.

No, I simply won't police people according to some arbitrary decision on their character and worth. I have enough respect for people to allow them the full range of freedoms that I myself enjoy. That MUST include the freedom to make terrible decisions, or it's no freedom at all.
