Yep. Kids who didn't get enough attention from their parents, in about 99.9% of cases. Even when said parents gave the kid loads of attention, it's invariably the kind driven by self-interest. Kids know that, and it invalidates them.

Some think they are so very very special, they commit suicide. There's very very little in the world that is binary. And then there's the non binary group called hermaphrodites. Now the vast majority can be called binary, but not the entire populace.
Dearest DA .. people commit suicide because they're mentally ill. It's a result of failure to adapt to one's reality - even when that reality is crap. As evidenced by the vast majority of those who were starving, oppressed, tortured, traumatised, and desperately poor, and DIDN'T kill themselves.

What next? Those who say: "I am neither plant nor animal nor human being nor stone or other dead object! I am a very very special unit and want to be treated as such!"
I remember the case of a girl in a Girls' School in England who suddenly claimed that deep inside she did not feel as a girl. And not as a boy either. Just as somebody very very special. And that because of her the "Girl" in the name of that Girls' School had to be dropped. And this docile school then obeyed and did what that girl had ordered.
So soon there will be those who claim: "I do not feel like a human being, but as something very very special! And I want to be treated as such! So, for a start, I demand my own private toilet doors all over the world!"
Why can't those oh so very special "non-binary" snowflakes not concede that they are both male and female, but ever so slightly more male or ever so slightly more female, as the case might be. I just do not believe them that they are 100 per cent male and 100 per cent female - exactly alike.

I responded to one who claims the transgender think they are morally superior. Since they commit suicide at higher rates, do you agree with the poster claim of they think they are morally superior? So, treat the mental illness, don't run from it. It's a failure of society not adapting to real life situations. For many think they know how every human in the worlds thinks. They think the entirety of living creatures fits into a neat little binary box. Even though there are creatures that physically prove there's no binary rule for part of a population. We call those with physical traits hermaphrodites. And those without the physical traits transgenders.
How would the uneducated of a topic prove something they make up? In these binary discussions often bring up hermaphrodites as physical proof there's no binary option for parts of a living population of creatures. They can't refute that, so they just ignore those things that don't fit into their binary worldview.
