Yang still has some credibility as an outsider. Whitman has none.
    IOW, Yang error.

IOM, at this point, taking most of the money from government and giving it to the productive working class is the quickest and best short term solution to most of our problems.

While the party will never win anything, they certainly are in a position to throw the elections one way or the other. Elections can hinge on outside party sifoning just enough votes to throw the election to one party. Jorgensen in 2020 and Nadler in 2000 come to mind. Pretty sure that Whitman would atract more centrist republicans than Yang would centrist democrats (he may be intersting but he is in left field). Not good news for republicans.
Not a fan of Whitman, but she is on my list of republicans I could live with if they won (it's a short list)

Andrew Yang is running it? It won't last long! Put someone with a brain in there like Tulsi and I'll jump ship right now!

It’ll all depend on gun rights, individualism, and free markets for me. We’ll see how they pair up

"Forward" was also pretty popular with Nazis and Fascists.

    Hitler Youth marching song:

    "Vorwärts! Vorwärts!"[edit]

"Vorwärts! Vorwärts! schmettern die hellen Fanfaren" ("Forward! Forward! Blare the Bright Fanfares") was a Hitler Youth marching song. The text of the song, published in 1933, comes from Baldur von Schirach and is based on a melody by UFA composer Hans-Otto Borgmann.

"Vorwärts! Vorwärts!" was first performed in the 1933 propaganda film Hitlerjunge Quex. Motifs from the song are used throughout the film, underlying representations of the Hitler Youth, in contrast to The Internationale and jazz motifs in scenes from a socialist "commune".[14]"
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_songs

““Forward!” was apparently also a slogan of the Italian Fascists.
A song taught to school children in Mussolini’s Fascist Italy

    Fascisti Avanti!
    Camicia nera,
    È un simbolo,
    Dela vita scheda!

    Which means ...

    Fascists Forward!
    The black shirt,
    Is a symbol
    Of the ordered life.”

I guess everybody want to be a "progressive". ;-)

This is not a slogan, it's the actual name of their party. We shall see if that was an unfortunate and ignorant oversight for a centrist option, or if they're just a bunch of communists/socialists. There is already a well established and viable third party; the Libertarian party.

Why would it be RW and LW if they have views from both sides?

How many seats do they hold? This new party would consist of former GOP and Dem congress reps. No clue why you think they'd be communists/socialists.

I don’t feel a need to lie about my positions in order to support them.

Unfortunately, this will go way of the Reform Party. Remember them?

The only difference is this new party does not have a Ross Perot in its mix to influence the election.

Besides, they have some interesting ideas. They want to call for the following:
    1. Department of Technology, great, expand the federal government once more
    2. Believe data is a property right, so whose property, the company or the individual. It can get very messy if you say its the individual's right and it is already the business property right under current law.
    3. Support universal health care, which I generally don't support,
    4. Automatic tax filings, which I don't support, and
    5. Encourage states to adopt nonpartisan primaries. Lousiana is the only state that does this based on its Napoleonic code.

That would make the voting process longer, more complicated. It is fine in certain specific situations, such as Alaska special election, but not in most partisan primaries or even nonpartisan primaries.

If it means splitting the communist vote between 'Democrat' and 'Forward', then I'm all for it. :)

What can I say, Nazis ruin things for everybody. Swastikas used to be pretty popular back in the day. A bit less now though.

Well that's the thing. They will get more support as long as they don't take a position on any issues. As soon as they do, they will be quickly classified as left or right or some mixture of that's unacceptable. Independents aren't a cohesive group, the usually lean towards one party or the other anyway.

Libertarians don't do well in local elections either that are partisan. Most will register as a Republican and then go on from there.

Second, Libertarians have developed policies. In fact they have Lutwig Von Mises, which I find more Libertarian than CATO, for their principle economic policy, the Ayn Rand Institute for their "moral and ethical philosophy, and Cascade Policy Institute, which deals with pretty much everything governmental. There are others, more like over 50 or more think tanks out there that identify as Libertarian. However, that's not the problem. With most minor political parties, they are either perceived or actually are, single issue parties. The biggest issue in the Libertarian Party is "limited government" to the extent that there are no drug laws, no consumer protection laws, get rid of 85% of the state and federal government, no income tax because they believe the 16th amendment was never ratified correctly, and so forth. Green party is everything environmental.

Of course you also have the following other minor parties:
    • American Independent Party
    • Alliance Party
    • Citizens Party
    • Justice Party
    • People's Party
    • Workers World Party
    • Socialist Party
    • Communist Party of the USA, yes it still exists lol

And there is a whole bunch of minor state-only third parties as well. We have them, but the problem is 95% of the population don't like single-issue parties and want someone to actually get things done, or at least think they do. This is the reason why our two major parties, despite all the problems they have, will always be on top. We adopted our political system from the UK and never look back. it is also why in other countries like Israel, Ukraine, and other places where third parties tend to be more successful than the major parties in those respective countries.
