https://www.americas1stfreedom.org/...ARLiua-8LsUScMsYO9988cu7FxOTNLCPf2inRkf9evWMA Is it because they hate seeing guns being used in a positive light or is it something more sinister than that? I have believe, after dealing with gun banners for decades, that many of them see criminals as the victims of an "unjust society" and they think it is unfair that a criminal might die after being "forced" into a life of crime. But I also believe that gun banners are almost always leftwing activists and they don't see violent criminals as their political enemies since violent felons rarely vote, and when they do, it is usually for democrats. Those who see armed defense as their right, on the other hand, rarely vote for leftwing politicians
We believe that the stories are being used and exploited as propaganda by gun huggers and profiteers, which by definition is designed to sell an exagerated narrative consistent with an agenda.
"Why do anti gun extremists hate stories about self defense" where do you get that? Now I have heard people complain about stand your ground laws being abused
Your BELIEFS don't change reality that defensive gun use is common. The propaganda comes from your side.
I don't know. I don't spend a lot of time researching. If I trust the source, I tend to trust the facts in the story it reports, if its been sufficent time to allow cross-checks etc to correct early draft. . That does not mean I trust the what a more biased source does with those facts in its story, or which ones it might leave out.
It's obvious guns are the best tool for self-defense. That is a clear fact that only someone with an anti-gun agenda would even attempt to deny
when you refer to people as "gun huggers" it proves to me that your anti gun attitudes are cultural and political, and that violent criminals have little to do with your anti gun agenda.
The real problem is The Inconvenient Self Evident Truth. “God created men, but Sam Colt made them equal.” ““The good people of this world are very far from being satisfied with each other, and my arms are the best peacemakers.” Sam Colt, letter to an English associate. THE FEDERALIST, The Story Of How Samuel Colt Made Men Equal, BY: TONY DANIEL, JULY 31, 2020. https://thefederalist.com/2020/07/31/the-story-of-how-samuel-colt-made-men-equal/
Admittedly, these aren't the norm. The norm is unarmed victims dying from being attacked, as they have no means to protect themselves.
Why do you beat your dog? I don't think there are many who disagree with people's right to defend themselves, at least I never met anyone who does. He rarely does.
More bazzaro right-wing ideations. Does the left-wing think violent felons should be in jail? Oh, hell yes. Do violent felons vote Democrat? Not if they’re a member of the Aryan Brotherhood or a hilljack meth head. The right and NRA likes to cherry pick these stories while ignoring the harm guns are doing to the country to justify the need for firearms for self defense and to promote the sale of firearms. The trouble is right-wingers can not hold two opposing facts in their head. Is lethal force sometimes necessary to save a life? Sure. Does this first world nation have a third world homicide rate and leads the world in mass shootings? Yes. The problem is with right-wing psychology and it’s resistant to any gun control. They hold personal safety above the good of the country. Adult white males have roughly the same homicide rate as European, gun restricted, homicide rates. So what’s the problem? Guns are so loosely restricted here anyone can get one, which accounts for our high homicide rate. BTW the story sited had four not three masked armed men. It was a planned attack or robbery in a poor neighborhood. It was either revenge or they were after something valuable inside. The neighbors said it was not random it was a target of some kind. when you refer to people as "gun banners" it proves to me that your pro gun attitudes are cultural and political, and that violent criminals have little to do with your pro gun agenda
You took the bait! I just knew a little of your own medicine might make my point because when you refer to people as 'gun banners', it proves to me that your pro gun attitudes are cultural and political and that protecting lives or freedom has little to do with your gun loving agenda. If you can over-simplify my views to feed your stereotype, I can oversimplify my views to feed mine! "Is it because they hate seeing guns being used in a positive light or is it something more sinister than that? " I answered your question in the OP title anyway, but next time, don't insult me, and expect respectful replies from me.
I despise gun banners who pretend that they are about public safety. I don't hide why I despise them. Are you admitting that you want to ban guns for honest people because you don't like the pro gun culture and politics or do you pretend your anti gun attitudes are based on "controlling crime"
where your argument fails is that you assume harassing lawful gun ownership is for the good of the country
You are right, criminals have little to do with my pro gun agenda. I value my freedom to use guns for many reasons
