clearly it worked well, given your aggravation. probably the reason it's such a sound and popular device.

Sorry if I misunderstood you, but in all fairness, there is no logical answer to that question. It defies all reason, and is probably the greatest question one in this universe could ask.

of course there's no 'logical' answer, yet many claim to HAVE the answer.

I actually think such questions are a waste of time when not in conjunction with action. So much good human energy has been wasted on this for so long, when that same energy could have been used to engineer a 'close to light speed' vessel which might have taken us out there to see for ourselves. We'd have actually had a chance of understanding more about our universe, instead of pathetically and lazily relying on the warblings of long dead and deeply superstitious goat herders.

What aggravation? Just because someone sets you straight on an issue does not mean that they are aggravated. You are being presumptuous again in declaring that I am/was aggravated.

perhaps so, but you do tend to get pompous and huffy when things don't go your way. and this one didn't go your way :p

"pompous and huffy"? My goodness... you are describing most of the membership that participates in this section of the PF. IMHO. Now you do realize that all you have done is presented an opinion... care to back up that opinion with some tangible proof?

What, are you drunk? Not everybody on this forum has the time to spend posting here everyday like you do, Incorporeal. He'll respond when he responds, stop spamming threads, old man. If you're lonely, go join a chat room.

Well, crank was on earlier this evening and instead of taking care of previous commitments, apparently crank felt it necessary to avoid the post to which you are acting as his/her spokes person and go on to other business completely avoiding this thread.

Since when is posting on these forums a "commitment"? Who is he committing too? Not responding right away isn't "avoiding". Do you not work? Do you do nothing else with your life other than posting on these forums?

I am retired. Making claims in a forum and then abandoning the claims in mid stream is IMHO unethical. Some people having done the same thing have been accused of throwing in a white flag (a sign of surrender)... others have been accused of leaving the battlefield (an indicator of either being cowardly or running for safety as opposed to facing the challenge.)

dear man, if you would allow me the time to actually catch up with all the threads I'm currently interested in, you might be in luck! it's midday here, and I have six zillion chores to attend to so I'm fitting god in where I can. while you were busy harrumphing about my non-reply, I was splitting salvaged pallet pine into kindling. yes, sir.

By all means... salvage away,,, and make sure you catch up on all of your chores. BTW: It is nice to know that you do attempt to find time for 'fitting God' in where you can. Of course... to fit something in, there is the assumption that the something exists and requires time and energy to deal with.

I really hate splitting kindling. It's one of those never-ending, tedious chores. Still, it's 2 degrees celcius here, so whatcha gonna do.

god seems almost fun in comparison :p

Whatever is necessary to keep the body from freezing. Get busy and make sure you got enough to keep that fire stoked all night. Talk at you later.
