Because, if the story is not true, it is libel of the most severe kind, and the story is being carried by a number of news sources, now, including AP.

There is no way in well the other news sources would carry this story if it had not been sourced at least three different sources. That's how they operate.

In fact, AP confirmed a few salient aspects of the story, the one about Kelly and Trump saying 'I don't get it, what's in it for them".
Therefore, given what Trump has said publicly, thus far, given the additional items confirmed by AP, and LaPorta, the story is authentic.

Trump better sue, because this story is gaining tremendous traction.

But, that's it, he CAN'T sue, because you can't sue if a story is true. Depositions would reveal the truth.

It appears that I know more about the Constitution than you. Earlier I said that the house, senate and the president have to approve the budget. Also, as I explained, most of the budget actually originates in the executive department. The house does not create that budget all by themselves. The house only starts the formal process of originating and approving a budget.

Finally again. If what you say is true, Trump has absolutely nothing to do with the deficit. Do you really want to stand by your contention that only the house funds the military?

OK. I give you that one. I should have said Congress. But let me tell you how the budget works, specifically the military budget works.

It starts with the military. Each unit submits their budget request. It flows up the echelons to DOD and the president. It is then handed over the house. The house has no obligation to even consider it. The house puts together their budget and it goes to the senate. Generally it goes back and forth from the house to the senate. It is then approved or vetoed by the president. I know the military is initially involved because I have prepared budgets for my units.

However. Now again. Do you believe the president has no responsibility for the deficit? I would really like to see how you answer that question.

He was there when the decision was made about making the trip to the second cemetery. He said Gen Kelly recommended they not fly to the second cemetery because the weather was bad.
