What difference does his race make when the law is against murder and for life. The op also brought up American race relations in reference to George Floyd, which is an unsettled issue. So it is not off topic to discuss that to which the op referred.

So you know .. we don't usually get individual murder reports from Italy. Can we assume that this is the first person killed by violent crime in the past decade or so? I can't actually remember the last time I saw something like this. Maybe 30 years ago?

The British signed agreements for the independence of the Boer republics in 1852, shortly thereafter they discovered gold in the Transvaal, (the British by that time have already taken the Kimberley diamond fields and used the Xhosa to mine diamonds - this was not the Boers although the British is quite happy for the Boers to take the blame).

After the discovery of gold in the Transvaal the British changed their mind on the independence of the Boer Republics and invaded after a propaganda campaign based on migration issues - Paul Kruger didn't want to open the borders of the Boer republics for cheap labour... but the migrant miners had other ideas and knew the British would open the borders .....

As you can see the Boer Republics were also the original Open Border story.... the British then combined the black tribal lands with the Boer republic while opening all borders and creating the mess Apartheid tried to solve...Apartheid started in 1948, 50% of South Africa's land was GIVEN BACK TO BLACK TRIBES... by then the third industrial revolution came round and South Africa had massive labour issues.... far too many black labours came in to mine... too many not enough jobs.
You will notice South Africa have a migrant township outside of every white settlement as the black labourers came in to find work.
