No, someone suggested that blacks in the US killed white people at a rate of 5 or six times that which white people kill black. The truth is that white people kill blacks at two and a half times the rate they are killed by blacks. This is where any 'discussion' of this came from. Simply untrue information intented to inflame and create race hatred - and it sure was not short of comers.

 

It is not impossible looking retrospectively that this thread was put in as a flame thread. I don't think the OP has returned and I don't know the person to make a guess...but here is what I do not understand. If I hear of a black person being beaten up I do not think it has anything to do with me and I am white. This suggests that this thread is not to 'bag' white people. The only reason I can see for someone thinking this was a thread about them would be if they enjoyed beating up black people. Can you explain why you believe it is against you because I do not think it is to do with colour of skin or that would affect everyone the same.

There's only one explanation, and the evidence for that is in the fact that the report included the race of the victim. Only a racist news source would do that.

Even decent folks often judge culture and expected behavior based on skin color. We may not mean to, but the instant prejudice is often there until a person or persons prove otherwise.

 

What culture is that, when it's a generic black person? You see the problem there? I think most people go with whatever behavioural cues are available, far more than they respond to skin colour. People respond well to gracious manners, decent presentation, clear communication, etc etc - but in the first instance it's about the person's CHOSEN appearance - not their genetic appearance. IOW, attire and general demeanour.
