The Steam version plays just fine on new computers. I’ve had my Steam copy for almost 2 years now.

RTS games are my obsession. These are the best games of alltime. I play with my twin brother all the time who lives in South Carolina.

    Starcraft 2
    Company of heroes
    Age of empires 1,2,3 definitive

Starcraft is special because it has been a world wide esport for almost 20 years. Playing a lot of AOE3 lately.

Right now on steam you can buy all three HD versions of Age of empires games for $3.74!

For shooter games my favorite are the Sniper elite series. v2,3,4 there is an HD version of v2 out now.

I have sworn to never buy another ubisoft game. Always some problem with them. Game won't start properly or there are networking difficulties. Bought Ghost recon future soldier a while ago and my brother and I could never hook up to play the coop.

Today most games you can join or respond to an invitation through steam. It's so easy so ubi can screw off.

That game was so far ahead of it's time. The supreme commander games are good but not quite the same. I also thought that TA Kingdoms was criminally underrated and underappreciated.

I don't really play on PC beside World of Warcraft. I do play on computers, but they're not PC. I own a C128, an Atari 130XE, a TI99/4a, an Apple IIe and an Amiga 500.

But presently I'm playing with my PS5 most of the time.

You should try the Total War series then.

Diablo 2 Resurrection is coming out this year with many improvements to Diablo 2. And it won't overwrite your original D2 installation. They are two separate games. This is right up my alley.

I am very excited about this! They are updating the graphics and all but not the basic game play. Diablo 2 is one of my top 5 favorite games ever.

Same here. There's something special about Diablo2 and D2-LOD. I guess it goes to the team members who designed it.

I just downloaded Space Engine. It's not really a game, but a tool for exploring the universe. Like, all of it. Everything known about our universe is modeled in exacting detail, and everything that isn't known is procedurally generated by the game. You can fly around the universe from a standstill to millions of time lightspeed. Just about every piece of data you could want about each star/planet/moon/asteroid is displayed. Everything orbits and rotates in real time. You can set any date you want and get the positions of everything how it was. I missed the great conjunction of saturn and Jupiter in december. So I set the date to december 21st, and placed myself on the surface of earth and saw it! When I stopped messing around with it today I was sitting on the surface of Phobos, the martian moon, looking at Mars, and then back towards the little speck of light that was Earth. Before that I was zipping around nebulae, looked at a black hole up close, zipped over to the andromeda galaxy... You can push a button to see the sky divided up into the constellations, then fastforward the time to see the stars and planets rotating around. Then you can pick one of the stars and zip out to them in seconds.
Anyways, I'll stop gushing. If you have any interest in astronomy or space exploration, I highly recommend this! Here is a screenshot I took sitting on Phobos looking at Mars.

Diablo II: Resurrected – What we know so far
    https://extratime.media/20210310-diablo-ii-resurrected-what-we-know-so-far/
    Dig out your saved files
There’s more good news for players who were wise enough to keep their saved files from the original game: Resurrected will let you import your saved games. So all of the progress made when you played the first time round can be carried over and you needn’t go back to the beginning and start all over again. Woohoo!

Starcraft and Starcraft 2 are indeed outstanding games. A couple of the best ever IMHO. Played the first for years and the second for a little less.

Age of empires was pretty good too but the pacing wasn't as good as Starcraft.

Sadly as I got older RTS games just got to stressful lol. As such I slowly drifted to MMORPGs and ARPGs.

Been playing POE (path of exile) for probably about 4 years or so. Incredibly deep game and a min maxer/number gamers dream.

I used to play SimCity a lot until I noted how simplistic/unrealistic it could be. I stopped computer games once they started charging for them. I can waste my time reading books and/or following highlights in wikis/Wikipedia for free, and maybe even learn something, (though not often)

Is there one on Wildfires? I realize that's a tad ghoulish but so is Grand Theft Auto and many people play that.

I was never much a fan of 3, that is why I was so happy when they redid 2.

DII is perfect for you, it is literally all done via mouse clicks. I use the keyboard to hit "alt" to see the loot (and I think that can be done automatically) as well as to change between skills, which depending on the class is not done very often
